Default peri menopausal weight loss

Yes, I'm blaming my weight gain on my pre-menopausal state...whether its true or not, I don't know. I don't want to go on a no carb, no fat, only whatever diet plan, I just want to eat well & maintain a good healthy weight. Today, after 2 weeks of dieting I have gained 1 lb to take me up to 163, possibly the most I've ever weighed in my life. I'm on the darn treadmill 3x a week, excercising between 45-50 minutes at a good, cardio pace...over the weekend I added a Kathy Smith fat loss workout (1 hour) and a Turbo Sculpt workout. Add exercise is no problem for me, I guess its the eating. But geez! I really don't know what I'm doing, but I'm clearly not doing it right.

Decided to join here for support, and ideas...willing to offer a good shoulder to cry on, lots of cheerleading and to share whatever I do know in exchange.

Best Wishes to all!!

You've got to realize that the number of pounds is NOT an indicator of how healthy you are. Just because the phrase is "lose weight," it doesn't mean you should aspire to lose pounds, nor should you be discouraged by your apparent gain.
We've all heard that muscle weighs more than fat. (Though if you google it you can find out that it is not *technically* true.) One pound of muscle takes up much less space than one pound of fat, and obviously is much healthier.
It sounds like your exercise regimen is healthy, but cardio pace and "fat burn" pace are a little bit different. I'm not sure why; I'm going off of what the treadmills at school say. They have a cardio pace at about 20 bpm higher than fat loss.
Don't look at the number on the scale; look at the way your body improves in the mirror.
