I heard of the "Cabbage Soup" diet but these type of diets usually fails in the long run. How long do you think you can have soup to lose weight? Maybe if you just wanna lose 10 pounds its alright but with these diets people usually gain all the weight back.
Losing weight and keeping it off means changing the way you eat and excercise for the rest of your life.

When we were younger we would make a great low calorie soup...Start off with the bouillion base and just add carrots, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, green beans and I think that was it...Cook it for a while to get the flavor through and I would put just a drop of anise in it...I would such a small amount that I would put a tiny bit into the cap of the bottle and then pour it right back in and then go to the faucet and fill the cap with water and put it into the soup...This is such a strong taste that you have to be careful...Once I tried doing this with a batch of homemade spaghetti sauce and had to throw the whole thing out...Just be careful as it is strong...It is a good and filling soup...

I also read about "Cabbage Soup", i think it was Liz Hurley who was focusing on that diet at the time.

I tried it, not to bad to drink but not the best soup i have had.

Lentil soup is nice, with a touch of oil in the water, drained brown lentils that have been soaked over night in water, fresh cut onion sliced small and vinegar to taste. I learn't this from my first boyfriend's family, they were of Greek Origin, it sounded horrid but i often make it as it is really nice, filling and good for you.

Learn't heaps more from the 17 years in the Hospitality Industry in Management, but that's one of my favorites.

Another is Miso Soup, Japanese. You can actually purchase packets of it and again, it's filling, and no real calories or fat.

Just last week i made a tub of chicken and sweetcorn soup, which is my ultimate favourite but you have to add egg white into it, to be really good and mashed corn as well as corn. It's a very lengthy process to get it as good as at the Chinese shop but yummy.
