Default Does anyone know a weight loss strategy???

Hi, I am 23 years old and have been gaining on pounds and this is getting to me. The thing is that after several efforts of exercise and dieting, I don’t seem to get any slimmer! There are many ways to lose weight, but I have exhausted all the ways I know. I have consulted a few people but all of them have been telling me the same thing. It isn’t helping me and only making my fears worse.

Is there some way to make me feel better!!!

It's never easy trying to lose weight - esp. as we age. I think it really is eat less and move more. It takes time and dedication. I struggle with it as well. It's not always a fast thing. These weight loss programs where you lose weight quickly aren't good. You usually end up putting the weight back on. I wish you luck! Hang in there. You can do it!

Delta is right. Eat less and exercise more. But also keep in mind to make healthy food choices. Diets usually don't work because once you lose the weight you go right back to the old habits that made you over weight to begin with.

Healthy eating. Cut calories. More exercise.

Walk to the store. Park in the very farthest spot in the parking lot when you do drive. Don't take the elevator unless you absolutely have to. Can you walk to work? Take a long walk after dinner every night. Every little bit helps.

Eliminate the fatty snacks and carbonated beverages,
instead reach for fruit and even better would be raw vegetables,
you can now buy them bagged fresh, cut and ready to eat.
Drink more water and natural unprocessed fruit juices.
Pass on the milk, cheese, and red meat.

Default Try This!!!

Here are some basic guidelines to follow if you want to burn fat:
1. DIET
Eat 4-6 small meals per day that consists of the right portions of good protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats.
Avoid high glycemic "bad" carbs as much as possible.
Sample Meal:
BREAKFAST
1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese & 1/2 cup pineapples =or= 2 hardboiled eggwhites with 1 apple or grapes.
MID-MORNING SNACKS:
2-3 slices of turkey or chicken (whitemeat) & 2 slices of swiss cheese
LUNCH:
1 grilled chicken breast, or salmon fillet on a salad with lots of fresh veggies, =or= 2 cups steamed =or= stirfry green veggies =or= a salad with tuna (fresh or canned) or chicken on it with any olive oil vinegratte dressing.
MID-AFTERNOON SNACK:
1 Low fat Yogurt (any flavor)
DINNER:
6 OZ GRILLED CHICKEN OR FISH OR LEAN PORK LOIN USE NO SALT ADDED SEASONINGS OR MARINATED ONLY.....with 1 small plain baked potato =or= 1/2 cup brown rice

Drink lots of water.....YOU CAN HAVE ONE CHEAT MEAL A WEEK....EAT WHATEVER YOU LIKE......REMEMBER THERE IS NO SHORT CUT OF LOSING WEIGHT......EXERCISE 2-3 TIMES A WEEK IS A MUST...NO EXCEPTION.

AGAIN: ONE CHEAT MEAL A WEEK!!!!

REASON: This will help to keep you from getting too hungry, will reduce your overall calories, and will keep your blood sugar regulated.
2. EXERCISE
Do interval training instead of long "same speed" cardio routines
Add lean muscle mass by doing total body strength training sessions 2-3 times per week. Do not just use the strength training machines at the gym.
REASON: To burn calories and increase your metabolism.Good luck and remember that persistence pays off

I find it's important not to starve your body. That won't help it will only slow your metabolism. Eat small meals through out the day. Healthy ones. Like have some fruit, a salad, come grilled chicken, some nuts, things like that. I for one LOTS carbs and I still eat them but I've been losing weight by exercising and dancing during the commercials on TV. I jog in place and do sit ups and then watch the show until the next commercial! Also, walk a lot. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. There are lots of foods that are good for you. I hate fish, but that's extremely healthy. Chicken is my lifesaver. Lean meats, eggs, watermelon is in season and it's so full of water that it's very filling. When I think I'm hungry I have a big glass of water and if I'm still hungry after I eat but I let the water settle. It usually fills me up!

Good luck!

Water... water is the magic potion of weight loss, beautiful skin, shiny hair, strong nails and a healthy life.

Continue a healthy diet with lots of green veggies and drink tons of water... You can fill sandwiches (like egg sandwiches or roast beef sandwiches) with lettace. The lettace will help fill you up and has no calories.

Also, don't stop eating things you like. If you like icecream, have a scoop, but not two or three scoops! If you like candy, have a serving size. On the package it always says how many servings are there.

Once in a while, pig out! As crazy as that sounds, but it could confuse your metabolism into working harder. Also, change your diet frequently.

Don't forget the water!

This is a great help too. You can count your calorie intake, and see how many calories you usually burn in a day, see your BMI and get some great advice and tips...
