  • How to feel Confident as a Woman with Excess Body Hair?

Hello, ladies! I have a low self esteem about my body. I do have pretty much hair all over my body: arms (it doesn't bother me as much), legs, tights, pubes, abdomen, upper and lover back, rare end and in the other places that woman should't have it! Thanks God I do not have noticeable hair on my face so I don't have to deal with it too much. I get random thicker hairs that pop up on my chin but only a few that no one notices and I pluck them at first notice. I feel very self conscious about that. Of course, I do remove it: shave, wax, pluck..but it doesn't last long…Excess body hair might be a sign of some kind of health problems, but I am too embarrassed to talk to somebody about that or visit a specialist. I plan to get lazer hair removal when I have enough money because I have heard it's the best way to get rid of the hair permanently. Haven't talked to my boyfriend about my 'hairy' problem, he didn't say anything so far..maybe he didn't even noticed it since I remove it all. Should I speak up?

Please don't be judgemental or rude with your advice, and please, girls, if anyone also has this issue, lemmie know so I don't feel so alone!

  • Gretushia, a reply from a guy. There are guys that love a lot of hair all over on a woman. I kind of like it myself, having been with girls with hairy legs and arms when I was younger. Maybe it was something about a woman who was confident enough to be how she was instead of how others wanted her to be. Maybe your bf likes the same. Are you sure he has an objection to your body hair? Maybe he likes it.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

    • I think many men are not as fussy as many women think men are about body hair on a woman. I actually like it when my Asian GF does not remove the hair on her legs or leaves her ********** full growth. I find it sexy. I enjoy feeling the hair on her legs with my tongue or hands, lips whatever. If I am doing her and she is spread eagle I enjoy looking at and feeling her leg hair. It can sometimes make me cum suddenly. Now she has removed the hair as her GF and her go to the gym regularly. I must say I miss her hairy legs (actually they are not very hairy at all but I like what she has). I have dated women with much hairy legs then my current GF and it was never a issue. I have date some women with seemly no or very little body hair and I can't say I found them more or less attractive. It was not important. I would say it if bothers you then yes, go to a good laser techincian and feel good about yourself. This is very important.

      • Hello...
Hair on body is a common problem in men but if any women face this issue is very critical condition. because of every wants to look hair free body as well as good skin. if you have a problem about hair in body, you should consult with your family doctor or any specialist hair surgeon for better treatment.

        • My sister is just like you. She has lots of hair from eyebrows, upperlip, arms and legs. Bleaching or lightening hair may make it less noticeable so that's what she is doing. Plucking and waxing are also her alternatives. Beauty comes from within so don't be depressed. We have our own flaws and every one of us has unique quality. Make your beauty inside out.

          • Let me hug you! I know what you mean. I'm the hairy type, too. I hate it. The worst places are the back of my thighs and my chin.

I've done laser removal. It didn't make it disappear, even after 9 treatments, but it did make it thinner and less dense, less hair, I mean.

I pluck the ones from my chin. I'm so self-conscious about these! The ones on my legs, I don't mind anymore. And my arms never really bothered me.

I wish I could shave, but I get a bad rash. I can only laser. Wax=ingrown.

I've done electrolysis between my eyebrows, with great success. I've also done electrolysis on the ones on my chin, but there are too many, and so deep and thick, my chin got scars from the treatment. They're not really visible, if one isn't really staring, but I gave up on the treatment to avoid more scars.

So, big, big hug to you. I know how you feel. Just know that I've never had problems to date because of this issue. The rest of the world isn't thinking of it. It's in our minds.

            More hugs. :-)

Edit: how to feel confident? You're much more than your body hair, your skin, your body. You've got all the rest of who you are! Don't focus on negatives. Focus on your personality, your intelligence, the things you do like about your body. The hair problem is just a vain thing. It can't take over our lives!

              • I would also agree that some men actually love hairy women. But I dont think you should be shy about it. Shave it where its possible or do waxing.

                • If you are indeed excessively hairy, in other words in the top 1% of hair women in the world, then I would go see your doctor. hirsutism is can be caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome and results in male pattern of hairiness. Other causes can be:
Women normally produce low levels of male hormones (androgens). If your body makes too much of this hormone, you may have unwanted hair growth.

In most cases, the exact cause is never identified. It tends to run in families. In general, hirsutism is a harmless condition. But many women find it bothersome, or even embarrassing.

A common cause of hirsutism is polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Women with PCOS and other hormone conditions that cause unwanted hair growth may also have acne, problems with menstrual periods, trouble losing weight, and diabetes. If these symptoms start suddenly, you may have a tumor that releases male hormones.

Other, rare causes of unwanted hair growth may include:
•Tumor or cancer of the adrenal gland
•Tumor or cancer of the ovary
                  •Cushing syndrome
                  •Congenital adrenal hyperplasia
•Hyperthecosis (a condition in which the ovaries produce too much male hormones)
•Use of certain medicines, including testosterone, danazol, anabolic steroids, glucocorticoids, cyclosporine, minoxidil, and phenytoin

Rarely a woman with hirsutism will have normal levels of male hormones, and the specific cause of the unwanted hair growth cannot be identified.

I put this here not to scare you but so that you can go o the doctor to rule out these causes
That which we forget may as well never really happened.

                    • Well being my wife is Italain and they can be on the hairy side. She is very self conscious of it all. So she does body waxing for herself the under arms plus pubic area along with her legs . She even done her arms as well. I don't tell her to do it it's all her doing. I think when she was a young lady in school she was tease horrible about it all. So now the hair is only on her head and eye brows.
