LUMINEERS - Porcelain Veneers That Do Not Require Removing Painful Tooth Structure

LUMINEERS BY CERINATE is a terrific cosmetic solution for permanently stained, chipped, discolored, misaligned teeth, or even to revitalize old crown and bridgework. LUMINEERS BY CERINATE is a porcelain veneer that can be made as thin as a contact lens and is placed over existing teeth without requiring painful removal of sensitive tooth structure (unlike traditional veneers.)

LUMINEERS can only be made from patented Cerinate porcelain. This revolutionary porcelain is crafted through a proprietary process unavailable anywhere other than the Cerinate Smile Design Studios owned by Den-Mat Corporation. In just two or three visits to the dentist, LUMINEERS provides a custom-made smile clinically proven to last up to 20 years.

  • Is it very expensive? Are all teeth done or just the front?

    • Not sure

Well, I have not looked in to the prices for this yet. If I hear anything I will let you know!

        • A lumineer is a trade marked porcelain laminate. It's made with a special reinforced porcelain to allow it to be thinner. It only can be done with a no-prep technique in certain circumstances. As for cost, the average porcelain laminate or luminneer is approximately the same cost as a crown (cap). The materials and laboratory time and fees are virtually the same. The best part about porcleain laminates is that they are durable and long lasting.

I just wanted to say that lumineers look great if you can afford them and if you go to a proper dentist. But the biggest thing that is not mentioned at all is the for the price you are given, they are placed on the front of the tooth, not the back side!!This means you can now get a cavity that couldeat through to the lumineer and now you have lost your money!!!Also if your dentist is chargingmore than a thousand per tooth they are charging way to much.It comes in a kit, they make a mold of your teeth, you choose which teeth it is then sent to california, they make the lumineer there to fit your tooth, they are sent back to be placed on your teeth.I have spoke with the company and sadly your dentist can charge you as much as they want.

                • Factory Cost

Can anyone tell me the cost that the lumineers factory charges the dentist to make the veneers? If we knew what total cost was to the dentist then we could deal, bargin, price shop, ect. Thanks, Colleen

                  • Cost Factory

Actual cost depends on the laboratory doing them. The lowest being units made off-shore at present are as low as 51.00 US dollars. The mark-up from dentist to patient are far greater. It's considered a secret between the profession.
I for one would not want my teeth made in a third-world country by people who know nothing about what they are doing.
China is by far the greatest mass producing entity making many crowns, bridges, veneers and the like. Unfortunately, the patient and end consumer will suffer due to lower quality and no savings to them for accepting units of lower quality. They never know, but the dentist that places them does.

I would not want to even image if China had a recall of dental restorations, due to use of improper materials, it would be castastropic.

They got it wrong with the pet food, cough medicine and toothpaste, it would not surprise me if they were using garbage metal with toxic consequences that were eliminated in the states long ago.

Beware of where your dentist sends his dental laboratory work.
The cheaper he gets it done, the more money in his pocket not yours.
IMO lumineers are junk, just a way to get you in the door to start something that you will never be happy with. It starts the process that very few have been satisfied with. Someone should start a survey of how many patients with lumineers had them removed because of dissatisfaction and replaced with Empress by a qualified Clinical Ceramist Specialist. Patient education is vital within an industry that is truly atrophing.

                    • I had porcelain veneers put on my teeth about a year ago. I paid $700 a tooth. I had my top 6 teeth done. My total cost was $4200.00. I know it seems like a lot, but for me it was well worth it. I have never been happier with myself. It's crazy what a difference something like that can make. I feel like a new women! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

IF YOU ARE QUOTED $600 PER TOOTH, PLEASE GIVE YOUR DENTIST NAME. IT WOULD BE WORTH PAYING AIRFARE TO GET THIS DONE. I WAS QUOTED $1,000 PER TOOTH. MY DENTIST IS RAISING HIS COST TO $1,150 NEXT MONTH. I AM SERIOUS ABOUT HAVING THE NAME OF YOUR DENTIST. ITS UNFORTUNATE THAT THE COST IS SO HIGH PER TOOTH, BUT WORTH IT FOR THE ONES THAT REALLY NEED IT AND CAN AFFORD IT.

Miss Thang posted in 2007 and never returned... Have a look at the left hand side of the poster's name to see if it is current or not, however, I suspect it would be a lot more expensive now in 2009 but someone else may answer you as well.
