  • Homemade Salad Dressing

This is my FAVORITE of any salad dressing I've made or had anywhere:

I make up enough for several salads:

    4 tablespoons of olive oil
    the juice of 1 lemon
minced garlic, basil, salt and pepper to taste

Do you have a favorite homemade salad dressing?
    "Be what you're looking for."

  • Mine is very much like yours, I just don't make a separate dressing. I just pour on the olive oil, squeeze the lemon (being sure to scrape in a little pulp and peel), and put the spice directly onto every salad. I like rosemary, oregano, and garlic.

I actually don't eat very many proper salads anymore, though. When I do make them, they're a meal unto themselves.
    "Those sowing seed with tears
Will reap with a joyful shout." - Psalm 126

    • I make one similar to that as well.

Depending on my mood...I also really like a new balsamic vinegar dressing I found, with honey and oregano in it. I forget the whole recipe just now, but I've used it several times too, for salads, brussels sprouts and other things.

The recipe I use is like this.
        1 whole clove garlic ,peeled
        1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
        1/4 cup virgin olive oil
        1 teaspoon honey
        1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
It is very tasty. You can store it in refrigerator and use it for up to 1 week.
