  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I don't know if any of you have heard of this movie, but it's really good. Stumbled upon it with the GF and we loved it. You can look up a trailer, but it won't do it justice. On it's most basic level, it's about kids in high school, though it's not a childish movie. It's definitely more of a mature film. I'll also warn that it can be a little heavy/depressing, but the GF and I LOVED IT!

I may have liked it a lot because I related to one of the characters, Patrick, a lot in one respect: he was always trying to make others feel comfortable. Personally, I have this thing where I cannot let people around me feel uncomfortable. I am not saying that I am responsible for others feeling uncomfortable, just that if they are uncomfortable, I need to change that (even at the expense of my own comfort). I've been told that this is a Capricorn thing (make all the astrology jokes you want, lol).

Only thing is that Patrick (near the beginning) makes fun of a teach for the sake of making others feel comfortable. I'd never make others comfortable at the expense of someone else.

This is a great movie that I somehow completely missed. I'm guessing it flew under everyone's radar.

  • This movie was huge within my peer group (if Facebook is any indication.) I hear that the book blows the movie out of the water, but haven't read it yet. It's on my list!

I don't recall much specifically that I enjoyed about the movie, but recall that I did enjoy it. The main character's actor reminded me a lot of Jake Gyllenhall circa Donnie Darko.

Happy you liked it! Now you need to watch American Sniper

Oh, and if you guys have not seen Gone Girl yet, it's also a must watch (even if you are not a fan of Ben Affleck)!
