  • Steam Cleaning - mop vs canister

    Hi guys,

    I'd like to buy a steam cleaner and I'm currently confused about the wide choice. Now I wonder if I should better buy a steam mop or a canister steam cleaner?

    Does anyone have experiences or can give some recommendations?

    Thanks =)

      I honestly don't know, I live in an apartment building, so when the carpeting needs cleaning I call maintenance for that,, for my furniture, I use the canister type,, what's a steam mop ?

      • It's a kind of mop which releases steam, like an upright standing steam cleaner.

        They seem to be really practical. I could also find some multifunctional steamers which are even able to do above the floor cleaning.
        But I wonder if they're worth it.

        • We are on our second -- a Bissell, that does a very good job. Amazing how much dirt that it picks up on our wood laminate floor. This one uses just steam (no other cleaner) but has a capsule that you add to the water that gives the floor a clean smell. My suggestion is to read the reviews on Amazon.

          Our first was a two tank Hoover. It had a cleaner to go with the steam. It cleaned very well but was made very poorly. Several of the important plastic parts broke within the first year.
