Has anyone moved for health reasons?
This time of year with the colder temp feel much worse (also hot summers are bad) . This is when I start searching once again for the ideal state to live.
Rationally, know there is no ideal state, but I can dream. Dreaming for spring and fall.

  • The best continuous weather of any place I've been in was Guadalajara, Mexico. That being said, the most moderate weather in the USA is probably in a narrow coastal strip in Southern California, most specifically near San Diego.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia

    • Have you tried controlling symptoms through diet and exercise? Have you explored a link between symptoms and diet?

I intend to move South some day, for various reasons, health being one of them.

      • I live where I was born and have always lived, but I think about moving every year because the winters are cold, long, and gray. For me, it's the hot, bright summers that we have here that I long for. I found out why a few years back.

The reason I struggle so much is in large part because of Vitamin D, which our bodies produce when they're exposed to the sun. It got bad for me a couple of years ago when I got a severe deficiency. It resulted in a prolonged sinus infection, headache, and fatigue. Even though I knew about the vitamin D, I didn't know it could be behind the symptoms I was experiencing. At one point, my wife and I wondered if I might have chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia.

After a trip to the doctor, I was able to mostly resolve things with medication and trips to the tanning salon. One day I may move, or at least live somewhere else during the winter.

Will reap with a joyful shout." - Psalm 126

Beautiful disaster someone we knew with allergy problems moved to Az

          • I haven't done it, but have considered it. Living in Kentucky and having allergies is a bad combo. I LOVE Southern California weather, culture, etc. And the allergy situation is much improved.

For Fibromyalgia, I would think a climate like SoCal would be perfect. Not too hot, not cold, not humid............."just right" to be able to get out, exercise, and stay as healthy as possible.

            • Warmer climate Amy with dryer heat like the desert area of California or Arizona are the most ideal places. My aunt live many years on the north east coast until the cold made her not able to move very well at all. So she move to Arizona and she was able to function a whole lot better in the warmer climate for the next 20 years of her life.
When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.
