  • Nolvadex for Breast Cancer

Nolvadex (Tamoxifen) is used for the treatment of invasive breast cancer, the most common type of breast cancer, following surgery and/or radiation and for preventing invasive breast cancer in women at high risk for developing it. Tamoxifen also is used for the treatment of women following surgery and radiation for a less common type of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS or intraductal carcinoma).

  • What's your question?

Oh and I think that since nolvadex is a SERM (selective estrogen receptor modulator - meaning that it blocks estrogen receptors in some tissues and activates it in other tissues) it would only work on a cancer that was estrogenic, i.e. responsive to estrogen.

Granted, most breast cancers are estrogenic, but certainly not all of them.

    Alex
