  • Am I losing my hair? :( I'm only 16?

Am I losing my hair? I mean I'm only 16! My dad's been balding since he was around 30 but the rest of my family have no hair loss problems... AM I BALDING?? It's 7 am and I haven't slept at all because I'm terrified of the prospect that I'm probably balding. Is this female pattern balding? Maybe I need more iron in my body? I mean my mom is anemic and could be balding for all I know since she has a short do. My hair is quite thick though? But large amounts do come out when I brush my hair/shower but not in clumps?? Please help me I'm so scared right now that I haven't slept and it's 7 am where I live.

  • It looks like that's just how your hair is parted. I don't think you're balding, but if you're worried, you should go to the doctor. He/she would have better advice than mine.

    • Okay thanks for saying that. It made me feel better. Maybe I was just getting paranoid, staying up so late probably does that you.

      • Hi,

I saw a segment on the doctors and they spoke about reasons why women go bald. It is in relation to low iron, hormone levels, under active thyroid too, stress and the way you iron/heat your hair can play a huge part (look at ways to limit stress and re your hair get product to protect it or give the blow drier/straightener a day off).

Go to the Drs get a blood test if concerned and sort it out They recommended eating food high in Vits a, b, c, iron.

        Good luck, hope this helps.

        • Mine does the same thing the longer it gets. I never really thought about it being a problem, just part of letting my hair get long But if you think it is a serious problem, try talking to a doctor. Few stylists know enough to actually know what could be going on.

          • If this just started happening all at once, you may want to check with your Dr. Sometimes, especially when stressed, people will lose their hair in patches. It's known as alopecia. If that is the case, the Dr. can administer steriod shots that help. If you notice that the spot gets larger and smooth, like a baby's bottom, then you definitely should see your dr.

            • Hair loss is really a big problem today. you need to consult with your doctor where you can get proper advice.

              • Diet, stress and lack of exercise can all contribute to hair loss. Consulting with your primary care physician is probably the best idea.

And remember....there is no pill, potion, cream, lotion or late night infomercial that will "cure" anything.

                • Don't worry! You should consult with some doctor. Don't take stress, eat healthy and do hair massage with oil. All these recover your hair back.

                  • if you Losing Your hair then you need to consult with your doctor where you can get proper advice Because Hair loss is really a big problem today.
