  • Sharp stabbing pains on left temple

I get these occurring stabbing pains on my temple that last for about two seconds before they quick fade away. They come and go throughout the day (hours apart to seconds apart) and I've had them for the past three days. I must say I had these throughout my five years of having chronic migraines that are usually around my ears, but never had they lasted this long and the pain seems worse. Also I started my period yesterday...I have to track these "stabbing headaches".

Some more stuff you should know:
I had very bad teeth where in the past year I had nine teeth pulled (including all four wisdom teeth) one root canal, and 18 fillings. Before all that dental work I had constant toothaches and with the addition of my diagnosis of migraines, I was pretty much terminally depressed which I feel was my fault for my poor oral state...also my parents refused to take me to the dentist regularly.

    I'm 20 and a developed hypochondriac.

What might of been the cause of these stabbing pains in my head?

  • There is no way we can determine the Cause (s) Only a DR. can do that.

Your being a self professed hypochondriac, it would be Unhealthy, Negligent and possibly very Dangerous for us to offer or suggest any possible causes.
That being that you may " Latch on " to something we say, believe it to actually be the problem and then ignore and refrain from seeking the Medical Professional Help that is needed.

See a Dr' have them check your eyesight, check your teeth and gums (again) to make sure there is no infection , have them do full work up of Blood, Liver, Cholesterol , MRI's, EKG, EEG's and any other test they may need to determine what is causing you pain .

I am very sorry your parents neglected your Oral Health like that .. What a Shame .

But your answer lies in the Professionals hands , not us strangers here on the Internet . We can be here for Support, but not for Diagnosis ..
    Take Care .

    • hi im a Doc

My 1st diagnosis would be "trigeminal neuralgia"
2 nd Stone in salivary gland duct ( here u will get pain before or during eating )

people with migraine profile have more chances of getting trigeminal neuralgia more than others
      dental pain can aggravate migraine

anyway first don't worry i do have migraine

pls consult a good doc n post

      u will be alright
      bye
