  • PCOS, Provera & Weight Gain

    Hi ladies.

After a diagnosis of endometriosis & probably PCOS, my GYN prescribed Provera. I'm taking it everyday to stop growth & hopefully dull the endometriosis pain. I have indeed stopped with bleeding but I am starting to realize that I've lately gained a lot of weight, seem to be growing more facial hair & am experiencing crazy mood swings. The hardest part is that I don't know if that's related to the provera, or to the PCOS itself, or maybe even the other comorbidity I have since I'm epileptic (and on meds for that) as well. My question is though, with anyone taking Provera like me, have you noticed weight gain? Also noticed that it seems hard to get off of you?

    Thanks!!

  • I have been on provera for 4 months and have gained so much weight. I don't go back to the doctor till August I hope he takes me off of it.
