  • Abnormal pap, LSIL, colposcopy next

    Hi all,

I am new to this forum and hoping to get some advice and feedback from women who went thru something similar.

I am 27 year old, no children, never been pregnant. On Tuesday this week the nurse from OBGYN's office called to inform of abnormal pap smear results and to schedule colposcopy. She said it was LSIL. I haven't talked to the doctor yet. The minute I heard the news I went online to research LSIL diagnosis and colposcopy. I have read so much, and everyone seems to have a different thing happen to them. For some it ended up with false positive pap, some had to have further treatments, and some received cancer diagnosis. I choose to think positive for now and not focus on cancer scenario too much. Even though it’s hard not think about it...

So I would like to hear from women who had abnormal paps with LSILs and what was the result of colposcopy. Also, please post about your colposcopy experience and any advice. I think I just want to talk and hear some real stories...

P.S. My husband will be going with me, is it ok for him to come to the exam room? I'm not sure if its appropriate for him to be there, but would be nice to have somebody with you for support and for him to ask questions if I miss something.

Thanks! Can’t wait to hear back
