  • Strange but true! anxiety attack images

Hey guys. New here! Just give a quick introduction, my name is Luisa, 23, living in Spain. I have a normal job teaching and have good relationships etc... Since I was young about 16 I have had various anxiety attacks which I guess is quite normal! However, due to recent changes in life ( that we all have, some harder to deal with than others) I had a big anxiety attack while driving. I parked up and thank god I was with my girlfriend who was there to help me through. I normally have trouble breathing and cry and throw up. Then I calm down through breathing techniques HOWEVER this time as I was having the "attack" I had a strange experience, It was as if I was watching myself and my eyes and nose started bleeding, why did I have this strange image in my head. I kept touching my face to see if there was blood but obviously it was all in my head! It was a strange feeling and has been on my mind... Has this happened to anybody before? Has anyone has a similar experience of imagining these horrible images? Sorry for long text! Hope someone can shine some light on this! Thanks in advance!

  • It sounds to me that in addition to your anxiety attack on this occasion you had a panic attack. I would suspect it was because you were driving and had your girlfriend not been with you, you panicked at the thought of what may have occurred. Panic creates fear. Perhaps you feared that you could have died, "blood". It's common I believe so you have to now just look at that and say "ok" one off, so what.

If it happens again I would go see your Doctor as it is an extent of anxiety and may need to be addressed.

    • If you have health insurance that covers it, try to get treatment from a psychologist who should be able to help you lessen the severity of the attacks.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia
