Have questions about cumming inside on birth control?

    We have more answers!

So a month ago I got back on a method of birth control after failed attempts with the pills. I am now on the NuvaRing and I just started my second month and haven't really had to many issues thus far except my period starting a little bit late after taking the ring out. Now here is the thing, I'd really like to have my fiance' be able to ejaculate inside of me rather than anywhere else at least for a change. I know the birth control will stop pregnancy from happening, at least 99% of the time as I know no method of birth control is 100% effective except for having no sex at all but that's just not an option! Now will I be safe to have him do such a thing if we decide on that? I'm not ready for kids, so I know there is always just that 1% that pregnancy could happen but I'd like to change things up a little bit at least. Any advice appreciate thanks!

  • Altogether; you on the pill, use spermacide lube and him wearing a condom. Aside from keeping your legs closed, that's the best mixture that I know.

    • Sorry but after being together almost 8 years there is no way sex is going to stop happening.

      • If you use the ring right, it's at least as effective as the pill, up around 98%. I'm on the pill, and my fiance reaches orgasm inside me all the time, with no pregnancies for going on three years.

But 98% or 99%, which you are liable to get with the ring, isn't 100%. There are plenty of women on hormonal birth control who have gotten pregnant. If you absolutely demand that 100%, then the closest you get while having sex (as opposed to abstinence) is going to be a combination of two or more methods. The easiest would be ring plus condom, but if you want him to actually ejaculate inside you rather than inside the condom, that's obviously out. I don't think a diaphragm would work since although you can take the ring out for sex, you have to leave the diaphragm in for several hours (longer than you should leave the ring out). Maybe the sponge? I don't know how long you would have to leave that in afterward. Otherwise the spermicide suggestion above is probably best. I suppose you could have sex just in the final few days before you're due--that may be when you're at the lowest chance of getting pregnant anyway.

        • Yes, the pill and the Ring are both about 98-99% effective at preventing pregnancy. I was on the pill once before but even then he never ejaculated inside of me. In the almost 8 years we’ve been together he has never ejaculated inside of me, on birth control or not. If I’m not on any sort of birth control we’ve always used the “pull out” method as they call it and of course I’ve been lucky enough not to get pregnant. That’s not something I need or can afford right now.

Like I said, the ring nor the pill are 100% effective. I think the only thing that is truly 100% effective on preventing pregnancy is basically no sex but like I said, that’s not happening! Condoms really aren’t our favorite thing, I hate the feel of them as does he even though we have a ton of them stored. I don’t really need to be on a diaphragm if I’m already on the Ring. I have no idea even what you’re talking about in terms of a “sponge”. I honestly don’t think we’re on the same wave length here with a lot of what I’m saying.

          • I guess I don't understand what you're asking, then.

Your question was "Now will I be safe to have him do such a thing if we decide on that? I'm not ready for kids, so I know there is always just that 1% that pregnancy could happen but I'd like to change things up a little bit at least. Any advice appreciate thanks!" I took that to be a question as to whether you'd be safe/how safe you would be if your fiance comes inside you. You pretty much answered your own question, or your question as I understand it. If you use the Nuvaring properly, you will be about 99% safe from pregnancy, but not 100%, if you have him release inside you.

The point of my answer was that if 99% isn't enough for you, then the _only_ way to boost that percentage while still having sex would to be to use an additional method of birth control.

The sponge is a type of birth control that absorbs and kills sperm.

Yes, that is what I asked and I never asked how to be 100% protected, I already know that. I have also never heard of this "Sponge" So I had no idea what you were talking about.

              • Before you mix your ring and spermicide...I'd check to make sure that won't mess up your ring... In my head, and I might be wrong, the ring is giving you the most protection...the spermicide is just a little added protection.

But I agree, double up protection. Personally, I love condoms--I'm weird, I know...I find them sexy. But it's also just less of a mess and I can still feel him reach climax.

                • Hello!

Jumping in on this thread to confirm for newcomers that NuvaRing is not made less effective with spermicide. So although using NuvaRing properly is the best way to prevent pregnancy, you can use spermicide for added protection!

And there is nothing weird about enjoying condoms, I am right there with you and have heard others say the same. Does anyone else prefer using condoms to not using them? I would love to hear more thoughts on this!

"I prefer sex with a condom!" said no guy on the face of the earth!
