  • Breakthrough Bleeding and Clots

Hey, so I take Alesse for two months straight and then I take a 5 day break from the pills for a withdrawal bleed. This is the second time that around the start of the second month I've had brown spotting and passed several clots. I spoke to a nurse practitioner and she seemed to think it was just breakthrough bleeding but I haven't read anywhere that clots are normal for breakthrough bleeding. Just wondering like what's up with that and if anyone has any experience with it.
