  • Not Sure If I Can Get Pregnant

Well, like the title says I'm really not sure if I can get pregnant and it makes me very upset.

I'm going to be 23 in September and I'm currently married for the last 4 years. My husband and I have been having unprotected sex since I was 18. Not always pulling out but never birth control.

Back in 2010 I had an obvious although unconfirmed miscarriage. I'm not sure how far along I was but after I had a period, I began bleeding heavy for 2 weeks which has never happened to me, my breast were severely enlarged and my nipple color had changed, the OBGYN found nothing on the ultra sound or blood work(im sure the hormone was gone by the time I went) and said I very well was probably pregnant. I also have the linear nigra line that follows with pregnancy that has never gone away.

My husband and I have never really tried for a baby but we really tried for about 2 months, using an iPhone app that I had been using for several months to track my period, and decided to use it for the ovulation days, after TTC my periods have now become irregular when always ontime but 2-3 days off, but I didnt become pregnant.

Even when I was 16 and on the pill I was very careless (was in a serious relationship at the time), and still never late, never got pregnant.

I've had alot of female issues from habitual urinary tract infections, a mirena that gave me a horrible pelvic infection (had 1 month), I was treated for PID because of constant painful sex, and they hinted at possible endometreosis although Ive never been examined (no insurance, scared of the surgery).

I'm a healthy woman with a healthy weight and lifestyle I dont smoke and drink beer occasionally. I just am scared because my mom and her sister had a really hard time conceving.

Is there any insight anyone can offer me other then going to fertility doctor or being tested for endo because I dont have insurance. I just want to know if I can...I really want to be a mother it's my dream..even my sister in law whos one year older then me was told she'd never have kids, and she some how managed to have 2 back to back..it's so disheartning and devistating

  • Without getting evaluated by an ob/gyn or reproductive endocrinologist, there really is no way to know. Keep in mind that a perfectly healthy couple can take a good 6 months to get pregnant even if they are having sex the recommended every other day for conception(if they don't know when they usually ovulate). Most won't even get help, unless they have other issues like not getting a period but a few times a year or ejaculation issues.. obvious things. Doctors usually say wait a year of trying with every other day intercourse or using charting(FAM) to have sex while you are fertile.

There are some good sites you could look up about the Fertility Awareness Method(FAM) where you don't just track periods, but other fertile signs, some people use Ovulation Predictor Kits around the the time they appear to be ovulating to confirm it and have sex during those fertile days(it's only typically 4-5 days per cycle).

I know the waiting game sucks and it's hard not to get sucked into the world of "what ifs" especially now that more women are being vocal about having fertility issues. Just have to take it a cycle at a time and see how it goes.

Good luck. I hope this is a relatively short process for you.

    • You trying from 16 age to 24 age and never get pregnant. Then there is lots of solution like IVF Treatment or Surrogacy treatment. I know that you mentioned that you don't have insurance. So don't worry if you looking for IVF or Surrogacy treatment. Because in India IVF and Surrogacy treatment are not expensive and success rate is also very high. I recommended you to contact to them. As i know they are best in IVF treatment and surrogacy.
