  • Linea Nigra

So I’m about 6 days from my period and have been having pregnancy symptoms. Larger more sensitive breaths, nausea, bloating, and fatigue. I took two tests and came back negative. But the past two days I’ve had my Linea Nigra darker then I’ve seen it before. Any idea what’s going on?!

    • Home pregnancy tests are not accurate in every case. It is possible that your hormone levels are not high enough to get positives if you are pregnant. Maybe waiting to see if you have your period would work in this case since it is so close.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

      • Are you on any form of birth control?
Have you taken Plan B at all this past month?

If you're experiencing that level of symptoms with a negative pregnancy test, it's highly unlikely you're pregnant. It is the shift in hormones and presence of HCG that cause the symptoms, it is also the HCG that registers on a pregnancy test. In other words, if HCG was high enough to result in the symptoms, it's likely you'd already be getting a positive result.

HOWEVER, stranger things have happened. Give it another week or so and retest.
