Grandslamfitness repliedIt is likely that the clitoris may not be visible or palpable due to structural changes. This could be due to inflammation, scarring, or other medical conditions. It is important to speak to a medical professional to determine the cause of the change and to receive proper treatment. It is also possible that the clitoris may be partially or completely covered by labia tissue, which may make it harder to see or feel. In this case, it may be helpful to use a mirror to help with visualization.

koalafied_adult repliedI'm going through something similar. I can't feel anything in my clit and have low libido. Mine didn't disappear though. So far no doctor has figured out the cause after many, many tests. Hang in there, we'll get through this and find some answers.

Whatever it is, it looks like a temporary thing and I'm pretty sure you will find solution soon enough.
Are you currently on any medications? Some drugs can affect the erectile function of the clitoris and libido. Review your drugs with your physician if you are on any long-term medications.
Stress may be another factor to consider, even though your description of the symptom does not quite seem like a stress-induced issue.
Stress-induced problems usually have a background history of some physical and/or psychological stress that resolves as soon as the stressor is removed.
There are many other causes of clitoral numbness with atrophy, but in your case, I think medications will be the most likely cause.
Any previous similar experience, if any, will also give you a pointer to the probable cause of solution to this compliant.
Do have a good day. And let us know if there is anything else you may want to add.

Space-Traveller repliedSomething similar happened to me when I took hormonal medications. Not that the clitoris disappeared completely or became insensitive, but it became smaller and softer, and it was more difficult to pull away the hood to touch it, which was really frustrating and it made hygene more difficult too. There was too much extra skin around this area. The same happened with the labia. They lost shape. My libido also went down on the meds.

Alison H. repliedHi Sofa,
Honestly, going by what you describe (and keep in mind I am not a doctor) it SOUNDS a lot like clitoral atrophy.
When you look at the area using a mirror, does it seem pale in color? (Like a decrease in blood flow? Or do you have a medical condition that relates to decreased blood flow/poor cardiovascular health?) Another cause of clitoral atrophy can be related to hormones although that's not usually until menopause; although hormonal fluctuations might occur at any time if there are medical reasons.
"Disuse" of the area can possibly result in clitoral atrophy but at your age, and the fact that you mentioned normally being sexually active, I kinda doubt that would be a root cause.
I'd recommend seeing another OBGYN or another sexual health specialist if your current doctor didn't have any helpful advice. A physical examination and possible hormone tests just to rule out a hormonal cause.
I don't know how common clitoral atrophy actually is (if that IS what you're experiencing), although there are some research studies that have shown positive results in the treatment of clitoral atrophy using estrogen tablets and creams.
But again, it depends on the cause, too.
Regular clitoral stimulation (to improve and maintain clitoral blood flow) may help, and you might consider trying an "arousal gel" that enhances clitoral stimulation (and also increase blood flow as well). Similarly, anything else that increases blood flow (like exercise even) may help.
But really, I would see another doctor for further examination just to find out if 1) this is what is happening and 2) find out what has caused this to happen.
I'm really sorry you're experiencing this and I hope you're able to get some answers soon!

Sofa repliedOriginally posted by Zoë T. View PostHi Sofa, what a weird thing to have happen! You mentioned this was two weeks ago - have you seen your healthcare provider since you started experiencing symptoms? It might be a hormonal thing or related to something entirely different like new soap or laundry detergent. I definitely think that a trip to the OBGYN will help soothe any racing thoughts you might have about this and can help clear up what could be causing it. In the meantime I'd recommend reducing stress, wearing clean underwear and maintaining hygiene (but no soap down there).
Have you ever heard of something similar? Do you know what it could be or who i could contact?

Sofa started a topic Why cant i see or Feel my clitoris anymore? Why cant i see or Feel my clitoris anymore?
Two weeks ago I woke up to a clitoris thay literally felt numb and it felt like it was gone. I touched the nub and there was no good sensation.
The nub is small. When i touched the string above i could still Feel some good, but then my vagina stared burning and the string above the nub just shrunk and dissapeared! Like the internal part of the clitoris disappeared and shrunk also.
I cant Feel the string/clitoral body i used to have above. It is so small and no stimulus. It just vanished.
There is no good sensation there.
Before i could easily see my clitoris and it was very sensitive. Now i cant see or Feel my clitoris anymore, even when i pull the clitoral hood back it is not there. It is just gone really.
I have no sensation of pleasure down there. I have tried to locate the clitoris but cant. I also cant have orgasms anymore. Before i would have no problems at all.
I also goy this sort of aching/burning feeling in my vagina and vulva when this first happened. It is not an STD or thrush. Have checked.
Also have gotten zero libido since this happened and cant really get aroused at all.
It bothers me since i am normally very sexually active.
I am only 25 and dont know why it is happening. Anyway i can get my clitoris back?
Is it a hormone problem?
