Ronit Raj repliedit's possible that emotional stress from the breakup could have influenced your menstrual cycle and the characteristics of your period. However, changes in menstrual patterns and unusual bleeding should be discussed with a healthcare provider to rule out any underlying medical concerns. They can provide personalized advice based on your symptoms and medical history. If you're experiencing distress or uncertainty, seeking medical guidance might be a good step to ensure your health and well-being.
Space-Traveller repliedTo me it looks like the pill and the breakup dysregulated your cycle. If you just bled, it could be stress, it happens to a lot of women to have prolonged periods or to start to bleed when they shouldn't have a period when they're stressed. However, the white mucus might indicate ovulation or getting close to it, so... this is why I think the cycle dysregulated. Obviously the pill prevents the release of the ova, but something is going on with the follicles other than usual, it seems. If by "weird things" you mean blood clots (dead fragments of uterus lining), then it's normal and it might mean you need to have a period more frequently if they come with excessive blood loss or pain. The tissue builds up and how much comes out during bleeding depends on how much built up earlier. I have too rare period naturally and this is what the doctor told me about it. Of course I got medication to regulate periods. I wouldn't worry about the dark colour. It happens, especially with light flow. If you don't think you have an infection (weied or bad smell, itching, pain etc), I wouldn't neccesarily worry. However, it might be that you need to go to the gynecologist anyway to get the pill readjusted and describe what happened.

alihassan repliedI'm sorry to hear about your breakup and the changes you've been experiencing with your menstrual cycle. It's understandable to feel confused and concerned about the black and coffee-ground-like appearance of your period, as well as the thick mucus and clear/white clumps you've noticed.
It's important to note that changes in your menstrual cycle can occur for various reasons, including stress, changes in weight, and fluctuations in hormone levels. Additionally, birth control pills can sometimes cause changes in menstrual flow and color.
However, the black and coffee-ground-like appearance of your period can sometimes indicate the presence of old blood in the uterus, which could be a sign of a medical condition such as endometriosis or a uterine infection. Therefore, it's important to speak with your healthcare provider about your symptoms and get a proper evaluation.
Regarding the photos, it's best to discuss them with your healthcare provider during your appointment. They may be able to use them as part of their evaluation or recommend additional tests or treatments.
In the meantime, try to take care of yourself and manage stress as best as you can. Getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, and engaging in activities that you enjoy can all help to support your overall health and well-being.

Brittknee182 started a topic Period randomly came and last 12 daysPeriod randomly came and last 12 days
I just went through a brutal breakup. I’m on birth control pills and I take them for three months then have my period. So I had my period In February, continued taking my pills as usual and my period randomly starts while I’m taking my pills on March 3rd.
now my period is black and looks like coffee grounds. After three days of this i get a heavier period and it last until March 16.
I have weird junk that kept coming out as well, like a thick mucus sometimes and other times it looked like a clear/white squishy clump. I did take a pregnancy test and that came out negative. I don’t understand if it was the break up that just caused my body to do weird things. I do have photos but i don’t know if I can post them (new here).
