Hard to say. Keep some of yourself in reserve. Let him prove himself. Get out with your gfs, don't make him the center of your world.

did he say why he didn't think you guys were working out? if he had genuine reasons then i'd be a bit wary about being back together and would take wildchild's advice about proceeding with caution.. however if he didnt really seem to want to break up then maybe something else is going on with him? maybe hes got problems in other areas of his life and doesnt know how to cope with them?
i dont know, its a hard situation to be in, i'd just say that whatever happens you can't keep worrying that hes going to break up with you all the time. although thats easier said than done i know.

I agree with WC and Kakie too. Don't go full stop into it until you have all the facts. Just ask him (no fighting) what it was that made him break up with you, unless he gave reasons at the time of the break up. Sometimes when guys have other things going on that are stressing them out, they like to think that ending their relationships will make everything better so a) they're not dragging someone else down and b) they have one less thing to worry about. But if this isn't the case, you need to find out what is so that you know how to go about things. There's always a reason for breaking up with someone, not just for S & G's. Don't make yourself readily available for him all the time. It's very possible that some people think a breakup is the best thing and realize soon after that it isn't and things are fine. Just make sure you know everything.

I've undergone this process a month ago. I was told the reasons - they do look valid, but I am not convinced that they are the pressing ones, really. He hasn't asked me back in black and white, but kept texting messages which are regretful and pitiful, like I am the one who left.

I sometimes feel that whatever the guy says, there is still something left unsaid, which sometimes leans on "the grass is greener at the other side of the fence" issue. I don't know what his and your issues are, but if you truly love this guy and are willing to try to make it work the second time around, ready to get hurt again, then, do so. I am in this stage of deciding whether or not to allow myself become vulnerable again - i feel for you...and I know...WC and CW and the rest of my go - to people will scold me for that. LOL...

Whatever your decisions are, lay down your ground rules, compromise if you must, but make sure you have your non-negotiables in place and that he knows them. xx

You have to do what feels right for you. But be careful and know that if you give a second chance there is a good chance that you will be looking at his behavior with a different eye. Don't be surprised if you find yourself ending it the second time around.

There are and always will be "cause and effect"...

You must totally understand the "cause" and establish in full the "why", otherwise the effect will be non-trust, vulnerability and some closed sides of you...

              That is the effect.

If you can understand the cause and they why and can change that, perhaps you can change the future effect that it would have had.

Remember, however, that yoyo relationships as I call them are not healthy, you can not reel a person in, send them out and reel them back in again.

This is not healthy and there underlines a real reason for causion.. unfortunately you still have to protect your heart.

Lastly, each person that comes into our lives, in my opinion comes in for a reason, a lesson to learn a love to experience, a friend for live, a reason... remember that as well, if it doesn't work out because there will be a next person as well..

Once he realized it was going to take him quite a bit of time before he'd start getting laid again, he called you back and said "I'm sorry. Let's talk and work things out."

Move on, sister. You don't need this chump.

I think you should give it some time.. I think maybe if you guys were arguing or something lately, that maybe he was over thinking things and "accidently" broke up with you.. It still seems as though he loves you, as for him doing it again.. im not sure. Why don't you try and discuss things with him, and reassure him that whenever he is feeling bad about things that he can talk to you, and you can sort through things together. Breaking up should be the last resort.
