My gf lives in CA, and it's not like that for her.....
NO kidding! I think turning 29 this year, my family has mostly given up hope that I will ever have a family and children. I'm like "really?" Of course, since most everyone I know from back home IS married and has a child or two right now I guess I can see why they're "worried" but it's a LOT of pressure. I am hoping that the current situation I am in works out, but I'm not going to be with just anyone... If that was all I wanted, was a warm body, I could have been married a dozen times by now Just be glad that at least it's 2010

I'm 26, and there is literally only ONE of my friends that is not either married, engaged, or seriously wishing for a ring from their bf. For a while all I heard was wedding wedding wedding.....and now it's babies babies babies. And I'm sitting there like "Hmmmm.....". Haha!!

Well we're supposed to "talk" tonight. I mentioned talking and he said "Well I assumed I'd see you tonight anyway so I was going to bring it up" I have serious doubts he'd have ever brought up that there is even a problem. He always says "oh well I was going to talk to you about that but you brought it up first", conveniently. haha. What I do know.....he is a sweet soul..he has a kind heart, and if I can avoid hurting him I most definitely will.

So we spent quite some time talking last night. I got alot of things off my chest....the smothered feeling, etc. He told me he understands and respects my need for space. I told him that I want to look forward to things with him....not dread when he's off because I know I'm not going to be able to breath. It felt really good to get that stuff off my chest. We've both decided to move forward and see what happens with us....but have agreed to take a step back and date each other rather than just assuming every free second we have will be together.

Wish me luck ladies...... I'm not sure I'd make it without you gals!

Sounds like you did the right thing for you. Congratulations! For some reason, we women find that so hard to do.

          Good luck!

Kind of reminds me of the first boyfriend I had after moving in to this house which was the first place I had to myself. It ended. I really don't agree that a busy life is the problem. My life and desire to be independent had not changed when I met my husband. It was the differences in him that made it work. It's who he is that makes me not feel annoyed when I've sat through a 4hour class and come home to not have time to myself. There was never a time I wanted to tell him to leave because he never did anything that bothered me when I wasn't interested in interacting. That boyfriend I mentioned would sometimes be in my house playing video games on my tv while I sat in the other room on the computer complaining to people he wouldn't leave and that I hadn't had time to take my dog hiking in forever. Even when he cooked me a meal I tended to get annoyed because it wasn't a time I normally ate or it wasn't anything close to what I felt like eating. This has never happened with my husband. Within months of being in yet another relationship where I complained about wanting my space and saying I will never get married or probably ever live with someone again I was clearing out drawers for him to put his stuff. Within a few months of that I was laughing about how weird it was to see my new name on facebook all the time.

It doesn't matter if you are busy or like to be independent and have your space. If you get along with someone and you want to be with them it won't annoy you that they are there. You can both do your own thing in the same house and it doesn't add stress to your day. Sure occasionally disagreements happen over when to eat, what to eat, and I've silently but obviously gotten out my ear plugs and put them in a few times. It lasts all of 5mins before we've moved on (and he's turned down the volume). In previous relationships I might have been annoyed and felt like my life was being invaded for the next 24hours over stuff like that. It may be possible to work things out and later get along with someone that made you feel that way but eventually all my relationships that went that direction ended. Each one just made me more certain I never wanted to live with anyone ever again.

Sounds like you all had a good talk... Sometimes you just have to have a little "me time" with your friends or alone. It helps you appreciate the time you have with your SO much more I think to not spend every second with them. It gives you more time to miss each other

Hope it works out now that you've talked!! Keep us posted
