    Unfortunately not sweet.

We create our own destiny, accept what we accept, will it not be better to face that now if that is the case, than in 5 years time when you are 35?

Keep your chin up and see what happens... In reality you've also lived a lonley 8 years of your life, so see any negative that may come your way in this, as a positive okay.

It sounds like he sees the relationship as "safe" and that he can use his time elsewhere knowing that as he ticks off his list of more important things you'll be there. To me that's a big sign of immaturity. I'll go out on a limb and say he seems like the type of person who has to have his life scheduled based on what he perceives are his main goals right not.

Right now, it's school and the need to be successful (i.e. has to be top of the class) is his number one priority.

Before that it was to get his CPA which is a full time preoccupation for many people (of which I was one).

So, in his mind, he won't be successful until his name reads:

      John Doe, MBA,CPA,PHD,JD etc.

No where in those list of degrees and certifications are indications of your relationship.

Have you had any chance to meet his family? I am also one of those who is with a US man and I am Asian. I observed him operate as well as the guys in his family and apparently, that's how they operate. And I told him that and explained it that it is deemed rude in my culture. Have you communicated your concerns with him? How did he respond to you?

8 years is long and it seems that you have both fallen into a mold you both have formed for each other. Time to break the pattern. Ask what you want for yourself in your current relationship.
