Girls, when a guy is nice to you and even helpful to you

do you automatically think he's interested in you?

I think because I was insecure for the longest time of my life, it impacted me so much that today any guy that's nice to me or helpful, i automatically assume he's interested in me.

i feel so shallow and horrible for this and I wanna get past it but don't know how.

Lol when I was a teenager, if a guy was nice/helpful to me I'D get a crush on HIM! I felt so in need of a boyfriend at the time, I was desperate!

I think there's a lot more nuances you have to watch for, not "just" someone being nice to you. I think the best way to get over this, or to understand guys' attention better, is to date! It gets easier.

A lot of guys are helpful and nice because that is the way they were taught to be. Don't read too much into it. Strike up a conversation and flirt a bit if you are interested. See if they respond by wanting a way to get back in touch or want to know when you will be around again.

Don't feel shallow or horrible!! I know I use to think when a guy said, "hi" to me he was in love with me haha (ok, not that extreme, but close!) Like Jns said, strike up a conversation and flirt a little (not too much though!) see if they reciprocate the flirting/conversation.
