    Need some advice on ex-husband

I have a permanent restraining order against my ex-husband and I recently found out that his best friend and his best friend's mother are moving into the apartment above mine! My daughter and I are both terrified that he will show up or that the best friend will do something to us, he has caused trouble in the past.

My daughter won't even sleep in her own room anymore and we're both nervous with every little noise. Friends and family think we're overreacting, but this has got us absolutely terrified!!!!

Help! Thanks in advance for any advice!

    WOW!

I can certainly understand you and your daughter's fears!

I don't think you are over-reacting at all; especially given the fact that you have a permanent restraining order against him and that you believe the best friend has caused you trouble in the past.

Why not call your police precinct and ask them what can be done about the matter. Let them know what's going on. I would also contact my attorney and see if there are other legal measure that can be taken.

Laws in each state vary, so check yours out. You may some options available.

I'd hate to tell you to leave---especially when you haven't done anything wrong. You and your daughter are just trying to live peacefully and away from the problem and now your ex may just decide he wants to "visit his best friend". What a way to keep trouble going....

Thank you. I don't feel so alone anymore. I think I will also let my landlady know the situation. Thanks again.

        leave

Although it sounds terribly cowardly, I'd move.
Nice and quiet, leaving the curtains so that
they think you still live there.

In an analagous situation, we had the same
kind of sneaky fool who thinks he's going
around the court order, pay rent on a premises
he couldn't use for six months by simply
making it seem that a particular person
        wanted to rent it.

It is clear beyond transparent that they are
only moving into that apartment to give your
        ex the 'in'.

If you can secretly move out, it would be
a real feather in your cap to know your ex
is lurking around the place 24/7 after
        you've moved.
