    What is her deal?

I'm sorry if most of this is meaningless, but I have quite a history with this person who had one of the worst impacts on my life.I mentioned this girl on this forum before, but the topic she was mentioned in was lost after this site regained consciousness from the hack.

I met this girl online about 7 years ago. She was the nastiest girl I have ever met in my life, a lot of people didn't like her meaning I wasn't her only victim of cyberbullying. She even took PRIDE in people hating her. I tried to leave the site, but I couldn't since it was so addicting, so being surrounded by her all the time made me a miserable person. When the site we belonged to went down 3 years ago, she "thanked" me and other people for "destroying" the site, when she was clearly the one everyone had a problem with. The good thing is, we haven't been in contact since even though we do have the power to do so because we share a friend on Facebook that we met on the site we met on.

Fast forward to a few days ago. The friend we have in common posted a complaint she had as her Facebook status. I knew the nasty girl posted advice for her, so I joined in without even acknowledging her or reading what she said. All I did was add my 2 cents on her complaint. The next comment on my friend's status was from the nasty girl saying that she once knew a girl with my name and she was a "Sweet girl." I KNEW she was talking about me because even though I didn't show my face in my profile picture or ever given her my last name, I had a feeling that my name is not popular in her country, meaning I'm the only person with my name she has ever met. I said yes, people with my name are nice and continued on with my advice for my friend. That is the last I've heard from her (so far).

I told my parents this and my dad thinks it's because she settled her differences with me, but my mom thinks this is her way of saying sorry. I'm wondering if it's a combination of the 2, or that she has been reading my advice to the friend we have in common about how negative people brought me down and I'm a much better person, etc. I'm just wondering what you all think.

I think hun, if she wanted to continue to rattle your cage, she would have done so, it's been a few days now.

Maybe she's grown up. Maybe she rememebers what a "witch" she was It doesn't really matter, bottom line is, she said something nice and hasn't come back, it's if she comes back and starts being nasty again, then you have to consider taking that friend off your facebook page, and emailing her from time to time instead.

That way you are rid of this girl "for good".

I'm not worried about her picking on me again. I'm still dumbfounded. She was a miserable girl. You told me if people are nasty they are miserable with their lives. Maybe she is not miserable with her life anymore.

Hopefully she has found a reason to not be that way; for herself and for those around her.

I've had this sort of thing happen - "mean girls" from high school friending me on facebook. Considering I'm pretty successful (college educated, married, happy with my life, whatever) I usually take a moment to reflect on how their bullying ways have probably hurt their success in life ... helped out by the information in their profiles :3 It's catty. It's immature. But it makes me feel better.

And after that, I let it go. People all have their crosses to bear - and though terrible treatment from this girl certainly warrants a moment of silent gloating, she does not deserve to apologize to you or affect you further. You might even block her on facebook so that you can't see anything she says and she can't see you either. It's a nice effect

I had that the first year I joined Facebook, but I deleted her a long time ago because we never talked and all I thought about was how nasty she was to me.
My friend told me she got that, and when she asked the mean girls why they wanted to be her friend they said that they didn't know how bad their action affected her life and want to make up for it.
There is no need to block her because if she hasn't argued with me in all of these years there is no need to worry that she will attack.

I still believe that to be true.. I recall that. I can see no reason, why someone would be nice full stop, not come back at you, unless they are making amends with what they did, found a better place within themselves.... Maybe you are right sweet.... Maybe she isn't and isn't that nice to know if that's true...because if so, she basically made an apology..

And even if she DID know another person with my name, she still made an effort to make polite conversation.

                  Once Bitten, Twice Shy.
But she may be worth giving a 2nd chance.

Her? I appreciate your opinion, but you don't know how bad this girl was. Oh, no way I'm I giving her a second chance.
