    Bi boyfriend advice

My boyfriend came out to me a while back that he's bi and I've done my best to assure him I love him as he is. He's an amazing person and I find that our desires harmonize well. I think it also is partially why he's so emotionally sensitive and driven; something I always wanted in a guy. Unfortunately, sometimes he still gets very insecure that he's "sick" for being bi or I may accidentally upset him when I was trying to show my support (e.g. come off as demeaning). What can I do to try and help build his confidence? I feel like I've done all I know how (tell him I love him for who he is. that he's not "sick" and that I don't think him any less of a person or man) but I find myself upsetting him accidentally a lot...I hate hurting him and making him feel comfortable again is more strenuous than pulling out a wedged-in molar.

So leave it alone...and always, always, always use condoms.

His being Bi in no way prevents him from having a good relationship with you. If he were straight he would be attracted to other women, but (presumably) would not act on that attraction. Now he's attracted to other women and other men - not really a big difference. No reason he can be as faithful to you as if he were straight. You can even have fun with him discussing which men you both find attractive.

The only place I would see a concern is if he is actually gay, but hasn't quite admitted it to himself yet, so claims that he is bi. (nothing wrong with being gay, but that would be a big impact on your relationship). Is your sex life good?

A really big question is how do you feel about this? If you want him to feel secure, you need to be comfortable with his interests. There are a lot of Bisexual men - a lot more than admit it, this really isn't all that unusual.

At least to me, being Bi is just one of the many facets of human sexuality.
