When is it time to take the next step...and what is it?

I've been with my boyfriend for about 7 months and we took things kind of quickly I guess. We've already had sex and we say I love you regularly. We get along very well and haven't had any major problems yet.

I stay over at his house A LOT. I mean, I haven't been back to my place in about two weeks. I feel very comfortable and at home at his place and he always wants me there and is sad when I have to leave.

When is it time to discuss potentially moving in together? I feel like 7 months may be too early, but if that's the case, what comes next?

I think that 7 months is likely too early to consider moving in together. Just because you've been through the initial steps in creating a deeper bond, doesn't mean you should rush into the next one. You're both still learning about one another and there's no reason to rush it simply because you feel sure about the relationship. However, I would advise that you stay, or invite him to stay at your place more often. Even though you like staying with him, you need your independence every once in awhile. It will keep your relationship healthy.

The next step is NOT living together. Try a few other things like traveling together, getting involved in some group, club or other activity together. I'm assuming you have talked some about your desires for the future but that would be a few discussions about things like kids, careers, where to live, goals, etc.

If you are hoping this will be a very long-term relationship, do NOT move in together until your are engaged. Most studies show that living together does not improve the likelihood of a marriage lasting. In fact, living together before marriage decreases the strength of marriages. Check it out yourself.

      Good luck
