    Suicidal thoughts?

Me and My Girlfriend are together for about a year now. She is so nice to me and we have only had just two small fights in the time we are together. The last time, we had a little argument and she was being so stubborn and all. But after about an hour, we talked about it, she cried and apologized and we went to our places.

But later that night when I called her she was still upset about her behavior and said that she suddenly had suicidal thoughts when she realized that she was so mean to me. She said that she wanted to jump in front of a vehicle or something but something in her mind stopped her. She always thinks that I'M TOO GOOD FOR HER and I CAN DO BETTER THAN HER. But for me, she is the whole world, I love her more than anything. I'm 100% sure that she is the one for me and I cannot do better than her, ever!!! Even if I can, I don't want better, I want her.

I know that I'm a good boyfriend, I do whatever I can to keep her happy, I never get angry etc etc. But that makes her feel even more bad about her self. That's the reason why she thinks that I'm too good for her. And according to her she is trying to do something good for me by jumping in front of a vehicle or something so I can find a better person than her. But for me (obviously) that's the worst nightmare.

Do I have to take her to a therapist? Or is this normal. Please help. I'm 25 and she is 21 and this happened just once BTW (She had never had suicidal feelings before)

I would encourage her to see a counselor. Her comments and thoughts are not healthy and likely stem from some serious issues in her life that can benefit from the guidance of a professional.

It may be difficult for her, and further her idea that there's something "wrong" with her. Offer to accompany her if she would agree, at least in the beginning.
Good luck. Keep us posted, and welcome.

It can be very difficult to separate real suicidal thoughts from people using the threat of suicide to control their partners.
