    Odd FWB type relationship- help

So I've been in need of some insight for a little while now regarding my current involvement/relationship.

I'm not entirely sure where to even begin. When we met he told me "I don't think you know how happy I am that I met you" yet he also was very up front about his intentions and said he wasn't looking to have any committed relationships any time soon, and that "We'll just see where it goes". At the time I was compliant with this and wasn't worried about anything. Through out our whole fling I've just tried to tell myself to live in the moment and enjoy what we have, but part of me has had the inevitable growing feelings which have brought me here looking for advice. He is very vocal and honest about everything, or at least he acts like he is. He once told me he thinks it's wrong to tell someone that they're not looking for a relationship and then go date someone else. Whatever that really means. Idk. We also live almost three hours away from one another when he's at school. When we see each other we act like a couple, all of the hugging and coddling and closeness and teasing, we have a lot of fun. We go out and hang out with his friends and eat out. He wants to get tickets to go to a hockey game soon. I've stayed at his parents house many times. So, I mean, he's not ashamed of me, and I'm not that much of an idiot to spend time with someone that just hid me away in his room every time we saw one another. He has no problem with bringing me around, unlike me.. I'm hesitant about bringing him into my world and introducing him to my family and friends. He's expressed indirectly that he'd like to visit my hometown and hang out and what not. I'm just confused at this point I guess. We are getting very close and I'm getting a little anxiety over the feelings I'm getting for him. I know that he likes me and he cares for me to an extent, he's told me to my face, but it's just such a tricky situation. He's also been in relationships consecutively for the past 5 or so yrs of his life.. That being part of his reason for not wanting a girlfriend.

Don't get me wrong, I've been pretty content with our relationship, I too have a busy life and have my hands full. I've enjoyed having someone to escape to, get out of my town and let go of all of my burdens for a little while. It's been really nice.
And btw- I don't expect him to ask me to be in a committed relationship. I understand that it'd be an insane request considering how far we are from each other and other circumstances. I respect his wishes and I am very understanding of him.

Should I just go with the flow for the hell of it? Risk my vulnerability? Any kind of insight/thoughts welcome..

The thing about FWB's is there comes a point when one or both start to wonder; "If we're this good why can't we be more" It's when you stop enjoying the moment and one starts "trying" to build a relationship that the whole FWB can fall apart.
None of mine ever turned into a committed relationship, but we had a lot of fun off and on for a long time. In time yours may turn out as a relationship, I have a couple of friends that did the FWB and they eventually got married and had kids.
There's no right or wrong way to do a FWB since each one is unique. My advise is to enjoy it, but keep your options open for meeting new people. Don't let them be your only outside interest.
If you feel you're getting too close you can pull back, or just tell him. He's in the same boat, he may not want to get too close either, or maybe not want to lose you as a friend even without the B's or maybe realize he doesn't want to lose you period. FWB's can get complicated since each person has their own unique guard up.

As far as bringing him into your world it sounds like maybe you think he'd be looked at as your BF and you'd feel compelled to explain the FWB part. This will be a conversation you need to have as to how you'd both like to be known in your circle. Guys are ok with saying "she's just a friend" it's not meant as demeaning in a FWB relationship, it's the truth without the details, but you need to be as open and honest with him with your feelings as you say he's been with you. He might be ok with "we're just dating" if that makes you feel better around your friends. There need not be an explanation up front, but people will see you together, see the chemistry and eventually ask questions.
Enjoy, I'm envious, brings back fond memories.

How long have you had this relationship? From this post, it seems like months. In your other post, you indicate you just had sex really for the first time in the last week or so.
I'm confused on that, so I hope you'll return to explain.

It seems to me that your feelings for him are more than just sexual, and it seems his are more than that too. But, we never really know what another person's feelings & intentions are, so protect yourself. I think a heart to heart discussion is necessary. In your other post, you refer to him as the guy you're dating.

I think caster has some good insights above, but I think you two need to be honest with yourselves too, about what it is you want out of this.
