    Preferences

over the past 20-30 years, styles, dress and appearances have certainly changed, such as tattoos, piercings, language, hair etc..what about the opposite sex do you like or dislike
    in today's world..

Honestly, the only things I dislike in the opposite sex come down to personality: bragginess, treating wait staff rudely, being inconsiderate, thinking they're god's gift... that kind of stuff. I like someone with a sense of humor (dark, especially), who is confident without being over-the-top about it, doesn't try to run my life, and is chill/low-key.

Style-wise, I don't have a preference. If they're comfortable with how they dress, style their hair, wear tattoos/piercings, etc. I'm good with it. I admire personal style in whatever package it comes in.

I think what bothers me today most about women in the dating world is the entitlement and lack of kindness.

Or...maybe this is just a side effect of the dating culture and/or dating apps, and/or with avoidant individuals who freak out at intimacy, and therefore manifest that through sparse communication, nonchalance, and avoidance?

But when someone starts a profile description with "don't hate me if I take forever to reply..." there's something inherently wrong here.

Style-wise -- I gotta be honest, not a fan of tattoos.

90% of the time, I get a visceral reaction to them, like disgust, and not happy to see them on an otherwise beautiful woman.

Yes, I get it -- it's everyone's right to dress and accouture themselves as they see fit. Have at it, folks.

But at the same time, you can't then be upset when someone is put off by that decision.

Let's end on a positive note with the things I like.

I really like that people now are more knowledgeable, open-minded and take in ideas frequently.

I like that women take better care of themselves than they used to -- when I first started working out, it was a sausage fest, but now, there are at least a handful of women doing their routines they see on Instagram -- so social media has had a POSITIVE effect on health and fitness if for no other reason than normalizing working out for women in what used to be a man's world, which is really awesome and inspiring to me!

I've always been all over the place with the outward appearance that catches my eye. I have been attracted to the tatted up, bad boy type, the country-boy w/boots and hat, etc. But I always seem to be most focused and settle with the clean cut, well-dressed man. The night I met my partner, the first sight of him was in dress pants and shoes, w/long wool coat. So handsome. He was gorgeous.

As we got to know each other, I then saw him in shorts, ball cap and letting his beard get a little scruffy. Now, we both resemble the homeless when we take out the dogs sometimes, but we clean up nice! Really, none of it matters any more, because who he is and how he is with me is what keeps me interested and keeps my feelings for him strong.

I think for me, it's the ability to be comfortable in whatever situation we are in. We get dressed up for date nights and walk down town-he wears a casual suit, I usually wear a cocktail dress or similar. We go camping and don't shower for 2 days. We walk the dogs in shorts and sandals, and are just as content. I have 1 tattoo, which I regret and some basic piercings. He has no ink, no piercings. Really, none of that influences our attraction at this point, and probably didn't since early in the relationship.
