I don't think how often you use it will diminish the meaning as much as how it's used. If she says it to you every morning with the feeling of "i'll miss you and can't wait to see you again" behind it everytime, you should cherish it. I agree some people just toss it around and have more of a "later dude" feeling behind it but I think most people just like that little reassurance. Even if the actions are all there, the words just seem to put that official stamp on it.

I think it's sometimes used as a gauge as to where the relationship stands. Again, going back to the feeling behind the words. Most of us can gauge where we stand during the exchange.

This is something I've wondered about myself. I always wonder if I say it too much, other times I feel like I don't say it enough. I'm definitely a big fan of showing it because words are just words and can be very empty with some cases. I will be repetitive of everyone else though, and agree that the "goodbye I love you" is said because of the fact that it'll be a little bit before you get to see that person again. Even if it IS just a few hours, like work or something.

I have different ways of saying it. There's the one where one of us is just going out for an hour for errands and it's "love you bye!". I have my favorite where I rag on him for something (it's a 2 way street, BELIEVE me) and when he looks at me like he's about to kill me I'll say "looooooove you " haha. But everyone is right, it's always best when it's that heartfelt one, where you have to say "I love you" in that moment.

I'm rambling. I'm not even sure what my point here is, but I'll agree that actions speak louder. But I'll also agree that we as women like reassurance by being told as well...it's just genetically written. OTYA, my boyfriend does the same things, he'll set the alarm for 15 minutes earlier than he needs to so we can have extra cuddle time before he goes to work. Which is something I appreciate more than a lot of things he does.

I agree with everyone to a degree, I like to hear and say the i love you before one of us goes out, I dont say it all the time but most I will, its when its getting used to fill a silence or you have heard 2 or 3 times in an hour to fill a silence when they dont know what else to say it sometimes gets a bit much.
I think action speaks louder than words everytime and most of the time I would prefer the actions of feeling im being loved over just hearing it, but at the same time when its a little one that pops out unexpected then they are sometimes great too its just the overuse that sometimes kills off the meaning in some relationships I think. It doesn't mean they dont mean it its all about when you use it I think.

hearing i love you is mean a lot to us, girls.. we need to hear it.. We like romantic and that is why we love to hear those words because we believe that it is very romantic. All i can say is man cannot even able to say i love you for his partner is definitely not in love with.. Maybe, he thinks he loves the girl but not feeling it..

I was acting like your GF before.. i was angry when my x bf can't even say it.. it just we love to feel how you love us.. why can't spit it from your mouth, if you really feel in love with the girl, how lazy of you that you cannot say that 3 words.. Action should accompanied by words and vise versa..

Perhaps the real thing with this is that you have to mean it. If you mean it and can convey that, then you can't over use it.
