Still protected during inactive pills when I'm stopping the BC?

My question is am I still going to be protected during the inactive pills if I'm not going to start on the pill again?

I know that when I'm regularly taking the pill I'm still fully protected during placebo week. But if I'm not going to restart the pill after finishing this cycle am I still protected all 7 days?

I've been on the combination birch control pill for 11 months after the end of this pack. I was on Ortho Cyclen for 9 and then switched to Desogen for the past 2.

The pill gives me horrible depression and anxiety (at least I hope it's the pill...) and I'm going to stop taking it and start using condoms and spermicide.

    Please help, thanks

I would use a condom just to be on the safe side.

        Hi!

I accidentally put Ortho Cyclen, I meant Ortho TriCyclen. That one has three different doses of hormones, increasing each week until the week of inactive pills. It was horrible, each week when the doses changed I'd go through hard depression and mood swings. My body could never get used to the continuous dose change. That's why I switched to Desogen...which made things worse (even though Desogen has a really low dose).

This doesn't happen to everybody. In fact, I learned that only 1-2 percent of all women on hormonal birth control react in the way that I did to it (with depression and anxiety and mood swings etc...).
