    Mirena.

So I had a baby two and a half years ago and I got put on Mirena. It's an IUD that lasts up to 5 years. Over the past 2 and a half years though, I have had a reoccuring problem.

I would have unprotected sex with my SO and everything would be normal; but when I had my next period I would find abnormally large fleshy looking clots in my pad. I was really freaked out the first time it happened, but I was afraid to say anything to anyone. Since then it's happened about 4 or 5 times. It doesn't happen every time though. Just randomly. Is there something wrong? Are these fetus's? Should I tell a doctor about it? Is it unhealthy or wierd?

    Yikes!

That couldn't be a fetus... I mean, unless your periods were months apart... O_o

I'd certainly go to a doctor. If there's a problem you certainly want to catch it sooner rather than later!

Most likely bits of uterine tissue. There are usually thicker bits or lumps with your period when not having an iud or any birth control. Your period happens because you are shedding the lining of the uterus not just dumping some blood. Since the IUD sits in the uterus the lining that grows every month grows on the IUD too. That may be impacting how some of it comes off. If there is no pain or anything then most likely it's nothing but you should see your doctor. The IUD could be imbedded in the wall which has a few risks and may make removal very difficult if it's left too long. Usually though there is pain or discomfort if there are any complications with the IUD.
