I am so glad I read all the women comments concerning essure. I have an appointment coming up to get this procedure. My husband and I decided to not get the procedure. If God want me to have more children so be it. I will allow God to rule in my life when it concerns my body.

My experience with Essure was very positive. There are many women who have had positive results with it. There is a risk with everything in life, including giving birth. A million things can go wrong but it's your decision how your life is controlled. Remember that god gave you free will. It is not gods choice for you to have children it is yours. Do what is right for you and your life. I was terrified by the horror stories I read the night before I got mine done, so terrified that I threw up multiple times that morning and even threw up my vicoden. But I went through with it and I couldn't be happier. Read the good and the bad and keep in mind that many people hold a grudge when they have a bad experience. Learn from what these people have to share but don't let them decide what is right or wrong for you.

Yes those of us who have had problems hold a grudge especially when we end up having to have more surgery to fix the problems that the metal coils cause, Yes we hold a grudge when we end up owing thousands of dollars in medical bills. Yes we hold a grudge when we find out that our doctors don't know what to do when there is a problem & the company is no help when there is a problem. I would have never responded to your post except for your comment about those of us who have had problems hold grudges. You have no idea the pain & emotional turmoil that this procedure has caused many of us. Please don't belittle us. You like the procedure because you didn't have any problems but I do wonder what you'd be saying if you had problems.

And what about the people who have problems with standard tubal litigations or during childbirth Kym?

People deserve to hear both sides and maybe if you compare the success stories with the failures you might see if one doctor is doing something different than another which might have caused the problems. Even if you bring the company down there are already two other companies who have patents on similar devices. The proceedure isn't going anywhere so the best we can do is give advice and share our experiences to help others and hope they are successful.

Would be interested in the info about new patents. I heard the chatter about Conceptus aquiring a new patent. I know all about Adiana. I've read that Adiana will blow essure off the market. Adiana can be used with Novasure & drs seem to prefer the Novasure ablation procedure. Adiana is not made of metal.

I cannot bring the company down. All I can do is try & warn women of all that can go wrong with this procedure. All I can do is try to give women that are having problems the assurance that they are not alone & help them to know that there is some help. There seems to be a re-occurring theme with essure metal coils in that women are frequently told that there is no way the coils can be the problem & if it is determined that they are the problem not many drs know what to do. The top execs of the company put in the orders to start selling their stock before I ever had my procedure. I have done some research as far as whether this stock is a good investment & it doesn't apear to have any long-term potential for growth. Anyone reading is welcome to research for themselves. I do the best I can in verifying info but there is a lot out there so please check it out. Don't take my word.

As far as responses to your posts, I looked back & it seems that some other women also responded to some of your posts. I am glad the procedure seems to have worked for you. It would make me happy not to read another post about women having trouble with this procedure. I feel compelled to let women know they are not alone. I was so scared. I feel compelled to post the potential problems. Some of your posts mentioned that perhaps we didn't have good drs. I totally agree with that. My dr was awful. Some of your posts mention that the company lists all the potential side effects. I'm ashamed that I didn't do any research. I unfortunately trusted my dr.

My posts are there for all to see. I truly wish you the best of luck. I just was trying to convey how horrible it is when the procedure goes bad. I feel that I cannot recommend the procedure to anyone due to the very bad experience I had. You had a good experience & feel the need to recommend the procedure. Neither one of us is wrong. This procedure hurt me bad. I just wanted you to know that

I try to keep an open mind and offer what I can. I know that when someone is in pain they tend to panic and do not have direction and sometimes an outside person may be able to see an avenue that could give them direction or look at an avenue that may have been overlooked prior to. I know it's difficult when your doctors don't listen and they can not diagnose your problem. I have suffered from shoulder pain for over eight years and doctors can not give me a clear answer. It took me years before I realized I would have to find a solution on my own and now I have all natural ways of tolorating the pain but it is still there. While shoulder pain is not as severe as abdominal pains the human response is still the same. Panic which leads to frustration and depression. If I can suggest things that will make people think to research then perhaps they will not have a bad experience if they choose to get the procedure. I however am not a doctor and telling someone that the coils alone are the source of the pain can be misleading. The pain may be associated with something else more serious such as a tumor or ruptured organ. Directing attention towards the coils could distract someone from another problem. I felt I had a responsible doctor who is doing adequate follow-ups and cares about her patients. Perhaps if someone notices that their doctor is not scheduling follow-ups or giving them the information they need in case there are problems it could give cause to question that doctor and take steps before problems occure. I don't think the procedure is right for everyone and I hope through progress that the method can become perfected someday but for now this is what we have to work with.

This is an interesting conversation.

As the original poster said, we have free will. It's great to hear both positive and negative sides of the debate. But in the end, we have to keep a level head. Each woman's body is different, and the choice is our own in the end.

I have read both sides, Kym and ashibaby... When one is for and one is against, based on personal experience, both parties are going to go heck bent on proving their point.

What I don't want to see, is what I just edited... Debate by all means but do not personally judge a person and argue the point of who is right and who is wrong and how people will take it.

It is up to the individual person, to make their own decisions on whether or not they wish to go through with the proceedure.

Given that it works for some and not for others, that's natural.. When things are tested, you are the guinea pigs, let's face it.. until they get it 100% right, if there is such a thing.

But, if so many women say it hasn't for them, then I'd be listening to them, regardless of the one or two that says it has for them... that's personally.. because of the word Fear... Odds are against. But that would be my choice and that is what this Forum is also about, talking, sharing, experiences, helping..

What I don't get is the passion of the fact it did work, I do get the passion of it didn't work, and the fight for that.

So yes, Yaz, let's please keep a level head... You both have opinions of the matter and are both allowed to share it. It's factual.. It happened. Both sides of it...

If I saw anyone, deliberately trying to stop women from making the choice, I'd close the thread as would any of the Moderators here, or our Administrator.

That's not the case. It's here are the facts, good and bad, make your own decision and in the bad, unfortunately, there are tales to tell, that's normal, that's life and they are also facts.

I am not fighting I am simply providing information for others to reference. Not a lot of information was given as far as experiences or details and sometimes people do not know what questions to ask their doctors ahead of time. I wanted to share my experience and thought I could do so without scrutiny. I also do not feel that it is right for people to use fear tactic to coerce others. I have been very careful in explaining that the procedure is not right for everyone and that it is the individuals decision but it saddens me when I see people comment that they will not consider an option because they become overwhelmed with people throwing the negative in their faces and trying to cover the positive. Why can people not equally have both?
