you can have it removed at *any* point.
they can remove it a couple of hours after having it put in if necessary.

Hey!
I did my best to skim through your message and the replies, sorry if I didn't catch something... it's early here...
You mentioned being worried about accidentally getting pregnant on the IUD.. The chances of that happening are as low as on the hormonal pill, if not LOWER, as you never have to worry about using it wrong or being sick one day and the pills not working, etc.
Yes the first few weeks, for some even the first few months, can be pretty rough with the IUD. If I were you, I would give it a full month before deciding to remove it, because it's a much safer and healthier option than continuing to be on the pill for years to come.
I do understand your frustration with this affecting your time with your daughter, though.
If you do get it removed (and yes as someone else said, it can be done at ANY time), I'd recommend looking into using the diaphragm or cervical cap, two other excellent non-hormonal methods which I didn't even really know about until reading about them on this forum.Comment

Hello I have had my IUD for almost four years now me myself I have had problems within the first three months I don't know about any body else but I don't like the fact of feeling like i'm in labor once a month not to mention the complications (fatigue, uti, mood changes, and I gained weight)associated with this thing that i've had I have been to the hospital numerous times because I was in so much pain my body almost went into shock my white blood cell count was high the doctors couldn't find the problem but deep down I knew it was the iud I kept it in giving it the benefit of the doubt I went to tbe hospital every 6months I spoke with a lady who miraculously had the same iud I had (paragard) she shared the same symptoms I had and she ended up almost dying from it her white blood cell count went through the roof on top of that she had a large mass in her uterus as soon as they removed the iud her white cell count went back to normal and they put her on antibiotics for two weeks not including the three week stay in the hospital long story short i'm getting rid of this thing asapComment
