I suspect your dr is preceptoring. They don't have to tell you that. My understanding from reading the Instructions for use for drs that they must preceptor at least 5 patients. The 1st 2 or 3 may actually be done by a company rep whom by the way is usually not a dr. After dr observes 1-3 cases then the rep comes & observes dr & if dr sucessfully does procedure then they become certified. It also seems that conceptus sends essure reps routinely for trained drs simply to assist if there is a problem. My concern is that if the procedure is so easy then why must reps be present even after a dr becomes certified. I take no comfort that my dr was certified, that an essure rep was present during my procedure because it still went bad. -
I spoke with my OB's nurse today. She said my doc is certified even though he's not listed. She said she has the papers and can show them to me but I'm too scared of the Essure. She has me scheduled for a traditional tubal with uterine ablation for next week.
Hopefully all goes well and I don't regret going this way.Comment
