    That's not how contraception works.

You need to go to an OB-GYN and have him/her help you get started on learning about all the different methods out there, what they do, and what they don't do.

You can google and find many sites that tell you a monthly period is not necessary while on an oral contraceptive. It's called a "pill period" and has nothing to do with your natural period. You can also ask your ob/gyn about this and see what he/she says. When I was on the pill, I took mine continuously, on the advice of my doctor, and never had the first problem - no spotting, breakthrough bleeding, anything. Some women prefer to have a monthly period while others, like me, are perfectly fine to do whatever to skip it. My period was extremely heavy and painful for me each month, so I was all too happy to take my BCPs continuously so I didn't have to deal with that each month.

Before you make any changes to how you take your birth control, however, please speak with your ob/gyn. Keep in mind that what works best for me, and for others, may not always work best for you. I didn't make any changes to the way I took my BCP without first speaking to my ob/gyn about it.

I know I may be barking up the wrong tree but when you said your boyfriend doesn't like your periods, it sounds like he doesn't like them for potentially several reasons. If you're getting moody, and it bothers him, then you might consider switching to a different birth control. Not each type is for everyone. Some can cause mood swings, bloating...etc. Finding the right BC would improve your mood.

On the other hand, if your period is bothering both of you for sexual reasons, then there are three options I can see: The first is to talk with him about why it bothers him. A period can be a good source of lubrication during sex or other activities. Both of you may start to see it as a positive thing. Another option is, as above, to try something like Seasonale or Seasonique, which limit your periods, or to take bc every day (only under the watch of your doctor). Spotting may occur, but full fledged periods are less likely. Finally, if he's not responding to either, you may want to ditch him. A period (as I've found out) is a part of you, for better or for worse.

I hope you aren't offended and that everything works itself out.

to be honest with you sweetie ive been trying to stop my period but the best thing ive done is take the pill daily for 2 months straight, you can carry on doing it longer but i advise 2 months then break, ive gone on to trying 3 months straight but in the first few days of taking the 3rd month ive been bleeding, so try doing 2 months straight it works great. even though no one likes having a period its good to know that the signs of being on is good, its saying your not pregnant, your healthy. so dont try to stop them completly because if you do and you fall pregnant without knowing you've buggered up, even at 15 you dont want to be a mum at your age hun. so enjoy your period or at least try to anyway.
