Can't find Mirena Strings
I really need some advice I've been to my local health department 2 times and they tell me they can't find the strings to my mirena I don't know what to do should I be concerned and take it out? I'm scared that it will cause problems in the future to have my second child. Anybody have this problem as well or am I the only one? -
Can't find my strings
I'm 21 years old and I've had my mirena in for 3 years I recently went to my local health department and the nurse practitioner could not find my strings. I am really worried and I don't know what to do should I get it removed? The nurse said there's nothing to worry about but I'm scared that this will affect me in the future when I want to conceive my second child. Has anybody gone through this what advice can you give me it's much needed please! -
Most likely it is right where it should be. Though it can fall out without you knowing, or 'wander' into your uterus...the Dr can still find and remove it. Make an appt to have an ultrasound done to locate it. I had an IUD for 5 years and when I went to have it removed the strings were gone. They had twisted up around the Mirena itself. It took some time and effort on the Drs part, but he finally got it out. Today, I'm on my 2nd Mirena. I've had it 2 years. My Dr can't find the strings. So, tomorrow I go for an ultrasound. And she is sure she will be able to remove it when the time comes. Good luck!Comment
