    Hi,
Thanks for replying. I will consider all the suggestions. It is really hard to remember the pills though that is why I went with the Mirena.
2Bpositive,I was researching the non-hormonal method but when I spoke with my dr she advised me to wait a bit, since I had recently had the Mirena removed. I am worried though about copper toxicity which I came across on the internet.Do you know anything about that, if it is possible from the IUD?

I'm surprised the doctor inserted the IUD. One of the requirements is for you to have at least one kid. I've had my IUD for 5 years.. and I love it! I guess I was one of the lucky ones. Thank God!
I'm finally getting removed next week and start trying to baby #3. I would sue the doctor that inserted the IUD. They obviously didn't inserted correctly causing you pain and too much stress. I hope you get it taken out asap! You don't want to cause any permanent damage!

        ugh

just wanted to add my two cents...

i had the mirena put in in may last year
nobody told me that it could cause moodswings

        since i am bipolar
        this is a BIG problem.

a month after i had it put in i ended up hospitalized because of a manic episode.

that was the most dramatic feature of it.

except of course I DIDNT KNOW THAT at the time because nobody told me it could do that. i read the leaflet i got with it and it didnt say ANYTHING about moodswings. the only reason that i even looked up the unofficial side effects was because
i lost my sex drive completely and it was ruining my relationship
i also started to grow a beard
        and got really bad acne
naturally when i read all the things that other people have experienced i went down to the clinic and demanded they take it out there and then.

i would NEVER EVER recommend it to anyone
i would especially like to know why they actively encouraged me to have it in the first place since they knew my psychiatric history.
nobody even thought to mention that it could cause mood swings.

i now have the copper one and apart from the slightly more painful periods
        its been perfect.
'so why care for these petty obsessions? your designer heart still beats with common blood. and what if you could have genetic perfection? would you change who you are if you could?'

Mimosa: I was also concerned about the copper on the non-hormonal iud. But, we ingest copper everyday from the foods we eat. If copper was causing toxicity in women it would have been pulled off the market a long time ago. If I had an allergic reaction to the copper it would have shown by now. But, so far, I just ended my 3rd period with ParaGard Iud and still no cramps. My period went something like 2 days light spotting (pantyliner required). 1 day heavy bleeding, 2 days normal bleeding. Then 2 days of spotting. So all in all to me that was not bad.
