    Not sure if pregnant or just symptoms of Depo Provera, help!

    I'm due my third Depo Provera shot on April 9th, I was on it a few years ago but decided I wanted more control so switched to the pill but have since changed back...

    When I got my second shot it was 14 weeks after the first. The tell you 12 weeks is the cut off but my doctor told me 14 weeks is the maximum amount of time you can go without being unprotected and it was 14 weeks to the day I had the second jab. In the past few weeks I've been having mood swings and major lower back ache. It's keeping me up at night and making me miserable. I've also had tender and sensitive breasts and have been spotting which; These are all things I've never had a problem with on Depo Provera.

    My partner and I don't use any other form of contraception... I'm now paranoid I could be pregnant due to the fact I had the shot two weeks late and the symptoms I've been having. My mother said she had lower back ache when she was in the early stages of pregnancy with me...

    Any advice or similar experience stories would be great... Thank you

    5 Pregnancy's and Births, never any Lower Back pain , during first trimester , Latter trimester only, with all 5 births.
    Best to call DR. or Clinic / Practicing Nurse or Pharmacist, with actual Symptoms.

    Every woman is different.

    You could also double check that pamphlet that comes with the Pill .. Read Thoroughly and take notes and Ask Questions from the Professionals .
    Remember the Depo is Time Released and the Pill is daily release ..

    If worried about possibly becoming Pregnant. Use Spermicide or Condoms, until your Birth Control is Regulated .

      Take a home pregnancy test. You could also be having those symptoms BECAUSE of the shot. Here are some of the side effects:
      spotting or breakthrough bleeding;
      changes in your menstrual periods;
      vaginal itching or discharge;
      breast tenderness or discharge;
      mild itching or skin rash;
      increased acne, hair growth, loss of scalp hair;
      sleep problems (insomnia);
      changes in appetite or weight,
      mild stomach pain, bloating, nausea; or
      skin color changes.

      Perhaps your body has changed a little and can't tolerate the hormones as well now than it could before.
