Mostly menopause starts in the age 45-55 years.

Menopause is a natural biological process that marks the end of a woman's reproductive years. It typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, with the average age being around 51. Menopause is confirmed after a woman has gone without a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months.

Here are some signs and symptoms that can indicate the onset of menopause:
        1. Irregular periods: As you approach menopause, your menstrual cycle may become irregular. Your periods may become shorter or longer, lighter or heavier, and you may experience occasional skipped periods.
        2. Hot flashes: Hot flashes are a common symptom of menopause. They involve a sudden sensation of warmth that spreads over the upper body, often accompanied by flushing of the face and sweating. Hot flashes can last for a few seconds to several minutes.
        3. Night sweats: Some women experience excessive sweating during sleep, often referred to as night sweats. They are similar to hot flashes but occur during nighttime, leading to disrupted sleep patterns.
        4. Vaginal changes: Menopause can cause changes in the vaginal tissues, leading to dryness, itching, and discomfort during intercourse. The decrease in estrogen levels can also make the vagina more susceptible to infections.
        5. Mood changes: Hormonal fluctuations during menopause can contribute to mood swings, irritability, anxiety, and even mild depression in some women.
        6. Sleep disturbances: Many women experience sleep problems during menopause, such as insomnia, difficulty falling asleep, or waking up frequently during the night.
        7. Changes in sexual function: Decreased estrogen levels can affect sexual desire and arousal. Some women may experience a decrease in libido or changes in their sexual response.

It's important to note that these symptoms can vary from woman to woman, and some women may experience menopause without significant symptoms. If you suspect you are going through menopause, it is advisable to consult with your healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and guidance. They can help assess your symptoms, perform relevant tests, and provide appropriate advice or treatment options to manage any discomfort associated with menopause.

Determining when menopause has occurred and when it is safe to discontinue birth control can be challenging. It is important not to feel dumb for not knowing, as it's a common question. To gauge the big change, consult with a healthcare professional who can assess your specific situation. They may consider factors such as your age, menstrual history, and symptoms. Keep in mind that menopause is typically confirmed after 12 consecutive months without a period, but other factors can affect this process. These days, telehealth platforms like Ongo Care, Doctor MD, and many others provide prescriptions and valuable advice on managing menopause. Trust your healthcare provider's expertise to make informed decisions about contraception and navigate this transitional phase.

Menopause is always erratic. Sometimes it wouldn't happen for months and sometimes...you never know .... Menopause is little complicated to understand.. and women usually gain weight after menopause.

Menopause occurs when your periods stop due to a decline in hormone levels. Symptoms include changes in your periods, hot flashes, night sweats, and mood changes.
              Common symptoms
              • Hot flashes: Sudden feelings of heat in your face, neck, and chest that can make you dizzy
              • Night sweats: Hot flashes that happen at night, causing you to wake up drenched in sweat
              • Changes in periods: Irregular periods, longer or shorter cycles, lighter or heavier periods
              • Mood changes: Low mood, irritability, anxiety, or feelings of loss of self-confidence
              • Sleep problems: Difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up feeling tired
              • Vaginal changes: Vaginal dryness, pain, itching, or discomfort during sex
              • Skin changes: Dry or itchy skin, increase in oiliness, or onset of adult acne
              • Joint and muscle aches and pains: Sore muscles, tension, and joint pain

              When to seek help
You can consult your healthcare provider for an official diagnosis if you're experiencing symptoms that are intolerable or uncomfortable?
