Underarm hair question...
How do you get rid of that itchy feeling after you shave your underarm hair? I tried lotion a time or two and it didn't really seem to help at all. After a fashion I can usually ignore the feeling but it drives me nuts right after a shower. Also, something else that confuses me, why does the skin there seem a darker shade that the skin surrounding it? I have a younger sister and a few close female friends and they don't seem to have the same problem...Life is a sequence of events shaped by placement, intent, and timing. No two lives are exactly the same, and yet...we are all the same. Affected by things we can and can't control, we must all live our lives with the hope that everything will be all right. -
Maybe dry skin? I HAVE to uuse mitchum for my deodorant (sp) and it is really drying so the second I step out of the shower I lotion up my underarms then put on deo. you should use lotion that is unscented so it does not irritate your skin, Just a suggestion I really dont know for sure! I shave my underarms also, and get itchy bumps from time to time. The only way I have ever prevented this was to shave with a ONE BLADE razor. Multiple blade razors irritate the skin more, since that skin is so sensitive. Problem is, I haven't been able to find a single blade razor in 5 years since the fad is now multi-blades. Dove has a deodorant that claims to minimize underarm irritation.Comment

Just don't shave if it hurts or causes irritation. Unless you are wearing sleeveless shirts or dresses, or if you just feel to ashamed to go against what overly vain Americans think about you, then there is no need. It isn't any more hygienic than not shaving, and it saves you time and pain. As a matter of fact, quite a few guys like the natural European look, especially if they are of European descent.
Otherwise, try cocoa butter---it makes all skin look and feel great! I use it if I have to shave when I'm going to the beach or want to have a smooth look for going out. It works for pubic region razor burn too.Comment
