    Endo?

Endo?Ive had various probs for years, seen various Gyno's & last time was refused another Llaparoscopy due to me having 2 previously.

Right Ive just looked - SHOCKING how ive had allot of these symptoms before when visited hospital...the only way to diagnose endo is llaparoscopy & i remember gynocologyst stating that I had no hormone imbalance so that would rule it out..Im gonna stamp my feet & wont move untill they agree to refer me - I will stay there all night if I have to . Just checked my symptoms & im shocked to say the least. Have a docs appointment later & I will demand a referal & another llaparoscopy (1st 2 was due to an ectopic & the follow on to the verdict of infertility dur to my remaining tube blocked beyond repair.

Anyone got any tips when trying to make the Doc take me seriously - I cant deal with this much longer & its getting worse. It has been 10 years since the probs stemmed from my ectopic.

I have been to a & e with the pain of late & emergancy docs.

It seems to be worse following intercourse - my whole stomach swells up & my cerviX & whole of abdomen including lower back is just so tender, sore & swollen. A & E fobbed me off with codiene (not even an internal exam) & docs have just said it was a kidney infection & gave me anti biotics. (Twice in 3 months ive had a kidney infection apparently!)

I want this all sorted as I want to apply for IVF & I dont want anymore complications than I have allready - also want an answer for the years of pain Ive had which is getting worse as time goes on..

Why is it so hard to get the Docs to listen to you? I read it takes approx 9 years for a diagnosis of Endo - that is shocking!

    Any info would be appreciated.

Hormone imbalance to have endo?! I would say get a new doc, I don't have a hormone imbalance, yet I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis. So yeah, your doc is nuts. Anyway, look up docs in your area that specialize in reproductive problems. I know this is going to sound biased, but I also wouldn't go to a female gyn because none I saw would even consider the possibility of endo and kept telling me that had cramps and its a part of having a period. So I found a male that specialized in the surgery aspect and reproductive problems of gynecology.
I actually first started going to doctors when I was 12 because of horrible cramping, I didn't get diagnosed with endo until last year, and I am 22. I actually did a self referral to the first one, because one morning I woke up and couldn't stand up strait, wear jeans or lift anything due to pain. So I researched gyns in my area, thankfully I did when I did since he was able to diagnose me and give me hormone shots he thought would help. He was great!
I found out that I have a very uncommon type that is clear rather than black tissue. Just on the off chance that you have that type you might want to make sure you have someone who has had tons of experience and is willing to consider what you are saying. Both my surgeons have been doing surgery since before I was born and one of them was trained by some specialists down south that I had thought of going to due to their success rates. I actually had my hopefully final laprscopy less than 2 weeks ago and I can't even tell I have ever had endo. (It was my second one in less than a year)
Good luck! I know how frustrating it is when docs aren't willing to consider the possibilities.

Definitely get a new doctor! When you describe your symptoms, they should be the one suggesting that you may have endo! Not you demanding to be treated. Jeesh!

Shop around for a gyno that will listen to your concerns, they are out there.

        Thanks for the replies.

visited the doc yesterday & she said she will refer me to a different hospital as i refused to go back to the one ive been to before due to a number of reasons.

Woke up this morning at about 3am rolling around in pain.. dull deep ache throughout my lower back & belly. I cannot get comfortable no matter if im standing sitting or lying.

I need to get this sorted before I go on the waiting list for IVF as obviously i want as much of a success rate as poss without any other probs to ruin it.

took some codine about 20 mins ago which i have now discovered can make it worse because it binds you up.. but its a great pain releif so I will see what happens.

Apart from endometriosis I may have pelvic adhesions from when i had my fallopian tube removed when had the ectopic. My cervix is currently pulled to one side & through my own research have learned this could be through adhesions.

I do not have much faith in the medicals specialists to be honest. Ive done ALL my own research to go to docs armed or they simply fob you off with pain killers & you never get to the true cause of the problem..

Wish me luck for my hospital appointment.. I think im going to need it!

        thanks for all your help
