Hi All,

I use to have a septate hymen. When i was 20 i used a the super tampons and let me add what a big mistake. After couple hours is soaked up a lot of blood and then i was unable to remove it. I was in so much pain. After trying to remove it with so many ways i got some scissors and cut the hymen and then was able to remove the tampon with ease. After that i could insert a tampon much more freely however i had dangly bits on each side. This obviously made me so self-conscious especially if i wanted to get intimate with a guy i couldnt so i never did.

When i hit 22 i visited my GP who told me to go see a gyno. So i did and i paid less than 2k to get it surgically removed. I had to pay as it was more for cosmetic reasons rather than medical.

Anyways i am now in a relationship and i still havent had sex yet. But i would like to and just wanted to know will i bleed when i have sexual itnercourse for the first time??

Probably not and you won't have the pain of the hymen tearing - Lucky you!! All that you went through with this will give you a benefit.

ohhhh the thing is i want to bleed - my boyfriend is very culture orientated and i am a virgin but i would never tell him i had my hymen fixed - a septate hymen is a think band of tissue which goes in the centre of the vagina opening - technically i only had that extra band removed so im hoping i bleed when i have intercourse as now i have a normal shape hymen. i dont want my boyfriend thinkin im not a virgin when i actually am.

.....but i had a painful experience when my gyno cut my hymen i was under LA but i still felt the pain

i wish i said i couldnt have sex to my GP - she may have referred me ont he NHS instead me paying 2k LOLLL

Me and my bf have tried to have sexual intercourse but it causes me too much pain so he has to back off - we have tried three times now but i back off each time as it hurts me too much.

If his cultural expectations require you to be a virgin, how much respect does and will he have for you once he takes your virginity?

he wont lose his respect for me if we were to have sex - but the fact i dont bleed i think he will be a bit suspicious. i never knew me getting the septate extra band removed would mean i wouldnt bleed / chance of me not bleeding when i have intercourse.
