I finished my period a day or two ago and I have now just sat down and it felt as if I was coming on my period again. However, when I went to the toilet I discovered I am bleeding but it's bright red as if it were the kind of blood when you have a nose bleed?
I've not had sexual intercourse.
Earlier, I felt quite "poorly" and then this.

Any ideas of what this could be would be greatly appreciated.
I don't want to book doctors if it's normal and also it takes about a month to get an appointment.

Could just be spotting. If its just a couple days after your period. When i have my period i spot or bleed bright fresh blood when its first beginning and after its finished. Sometimes i wont bleed for a day or two then spot again for a day or two.

This happened to me a few months ago. Usually my periods are very regular and consistent. I don't have sex until the 6th day of my cycle after my period had ended the day before, so I had had sex as usual. I was shocked, when i got up to find myself bleeding. It was just as you described, bright red, but I felt just fine. It continued for a day then it was gone without explanation. It has never happened again and I was just as confused as you are.

I read some suggestion that it might be build up from tampons, because I did experience some clotting, but I really don't know what caused it. I really don't think it's anything to be worried about tho, but that's just my opinion.
