    Is this normal?

I use a mooncup therefore I can easily work out how much blood I loose each month. Last month I lost 340ml and that wasn't a particularly heavy month. Several years ago I used to loose at a guess at least double that easily every month. That seems like a lot of blood, is that normal?

Comparing your cycle to a cycle several years ago isn't really a good comparison. Our cycles change numerous times throughout our lives. I'll used to go through months of having light periods, then months of having heavy periods.

With that said, the "average" blood loss during a period is a pretty wide range, anything between 10-80ml is considered normal. If your measurement is correct, considering a mooncups capacity is 13-15ml (if it is similar to the Diva Cup, which I use), then yes, you are bleeding VERY heavily and should go to the Dr. However, you need to go back to your measurements and make sure that you are calculating correctly. I just quickly did the match and at 340ml, you are changing your cup around 26 times during your period? That does sound rather high.

Thank you for your reply LanaBear. The capacity of the mooncup is pretty much the same as the Diva Cup. It is 17.5ml and yes my measurements are correct I do have to empty the mooncup welll over 20 times. At some points I fill the cup in about 10 minutes!!!
