    I Have the Answer!!

Take 2 Motrin pills every eight hours.
Every four hours, take Tylenol so you are sure to last the entire 8 hours.
Make sure you have eaten before you take them and make sure you take them before you start to cramp.

Motrin is a muscle relaxant so it will make the cramps almost disappear. My cramps were so bad that I had to go to the hospital, but now that I have taken Motrin, I feel almost nothing.

    IMPORTANT NOTE:
Make sure you keep a schedule of when you take the medicine so you don't overdose. Motrin is very powerful anf you HAVE to wait a full eight hours until you are aloud to take more.

      Bad Bad Bad Cramps

I get really bad cramps when I have my cycle.... I get hot flashes, cold flashes, diarrea, sometimes I even throw up, If I get at work or school, I have to go home or call in sick. This always and only happens the first day of my cycle.... I do not take pills because they are not good for your body and usually make you bleed more and even sometimes cause clots...... What always works for me is some very Hot ginger or mint tea and a nice two or three hour nap.... I also try to stay away from cold drinks in the mornings at least a week or two before my period, drink lots of water to prevent from dehydration(which sometimes is the cause of cramps) when your cycle arrives. The best remedy for me and always works when I stick to it, is drinking Hot Tea everymorning or at least a week before your period and you should be fine. The ginger root works the best, you can get it at your local grocery store... All you do is peal it and boil it, if not, very strong ginger tea bags work just as good .... Good luck on your next period and I hope its a happy one

I'll have to ask my doctor to prescribe me some Allay next time I see her. I've been taking both Ibuprofens and Klonopins to deal with my cramps lately.A month ago I woke up with nausea and started throwing up and still dealing with alot of nausea symptons too. I know what you mean, mine have been hurting really bad recently to the point I can't do anything until they go away. Medication wise I have'nt been feeling very healthy relying on painkillers, but thanks for suggesting Allay. Sounds like a good alternative.

          Bad cramps

          What causes PMS?
Most scientists agree that PMS is related to the hormone progesterone, which is produced by the ovaries the second half of the monthly cycle. There is a relationship between a specific brain hormone called luteinizing hormone (LH) and an antibody. As your period approaches, the level of antibody falls as the level of LH rises. The high level of LH is directly related to the symptoms of PMS. Treatment of PMS with progesterone is very effective because progesterone suppresses circulating LH and controls the symptoms of PMS. I suffered for many years with migraines and cramps, then I found out I was estrogen dominate through a saliva test. This was causing all the bad cramps and other awful symptoms. I researched on the computer and found Bio-Identical hormones at vienue, I'm so much better now, it pays to research, cause my regular Dr. wasn't figuring it out.
          Take care, Abbey

I have had horrible cramps since I started my period at age eleven. When I get them usually I cant hold done the medicine long enough before its emptied in the toilet. What I've learned is that getting in a warm bath to subside the cramps long enough so that I can take something helps. Or sometimes when it so bad I take NyQuil because it has an ingredient that takes some of the pain away and it puts you right to sleep while it works. And when you finally get over the hill of pain enough to walk around and keep the drugs down set a reminder on your phone so that it doesn't come back again. But seeing your doctor always helps they have great suggestions and can help you out the most.

I started my period when I was around 11/12 and I am now 18.

I used to suffer from fairly bad cramps during my period, luckily not so bad that I felt like vomiting, but usually taking ibuprofen helped for a while, or having something warm on my stomach or taking a warm bath.

After a while of dealing with bad cramps and heavy periods, I went on to Microgynon 30 (contraceptive pill) and they've actually helped a lot. I've been on them for almost a year now and my periods have gotten less heavy and I only have cramps for maybe the second day of my period and they aren't as bad as they used to be.

I'd say for some people who are suffering like I did to maybe consider going onto a contraceptive pill as they do even out your periods (mine were fairly irregular also) and make them lighter and less painful.
