Non Stop dark brown vaginal discharged

I am 22 this year and yes i'm a virgin. I had my first period at 13. My period is very regular where it comes for about 3-4 days once a month even till now. The problems begins when I was around 17-18. First, light yellowish fluid stain my panties for about 1 week after period for the first few months. To solve this I started wearing panty liners for the 1st week every month after my period ends. Then the fluid became more brownish lasting even till more than 2 weeks after when my period has finish which is still regular despite all this extra vaginal discharged. So I started wearing pads, the normal day one for that 2 weeks. When i was 20, the fluid turned dark brown. Since then I'm wearing a night pad everyday regardless of whether i'm having periods or not as the amount of fluid is a lot where when i wear the normal day one it will overflow and stain my panties. Throughout all this years, my period has always come regularly once a month so i'm not sure what is the problem. I don't drink or smoke or take drugs and I never conduct myself in any sexual activities so it must not have been STDs. The fluid has a foul, fishy odor and there are times where it stops coming out for a day or two and then continue coming until my next period. Because of the foul fishy order, I had to wear new pads in every 3 hour so that people can't smell it. My sister thinks I'm having period everyday when she found out i'm wearing the night pad everyday and wants me to go see a doctor. I am scared of seeing the doctor. I am scared of letting them do the checking on my vagina.

Nothing to be scared of hon, that's what they're for. You can select a female doctor if you're more comfortable with that. I doubt that there's anything really 'wrong,' but it's always best to put your mind at ease and have a professional say so. Really, go see one, it will be fine. Promise.

I agree with jen, I'm not going to lie, it's going to feel a little awkward at first, but if you do select a female doctor, I'd assume a little easier (I have a male, so I wouldn't know). Just explain to her everything you told us, and she'll know what to do, she might examine you, which is a little uncomfortable, but nothing painful. Just take a deep breath and relax, it's over very quick and maybe you can figure out what's going on! Good luck!
